Macclesfield are doing well so far. JJ

Visited Tesco in Henley on Thames today and it was very busy despite an issue with flooding in parts of the carpark. Still of the opinion that the write down is overdone; lets see what the coming week delivers. JJ

Investment is about perspective; over one year TSCO is up 13% and MKS up 2.5% at current prices. I hold both and am happy to continue holding each of these shares. The sooner we get to £4 again with MKS the better, but as said before its likely to be a bumpy road. GL all. JJ

Lucky I'm expecting a modest daily increase in the share price from now so that by the time we get the FYR 'it will be hovering around £7. JJ

P.S £8 for Christmas 2026

We shouldn't be surprised if Friday sees a rise of our share with a wide acknowledgement that the mark down has been overdone. TSCO is a well run business gaining new customers and increasing trolley loads. JJ

Carrington yes Amazon could buy M&S from petty cash but would they? M&S is likely to be broken up within the next 3/5 years IMO. The food business is well respected and is held back by the fashion offering which is likely losing money if the true picture were to be put in the public domain. I have never seen an M&S foodhall devoid of customers whereas the Men's fashion often appears to be so. Amazon shows no sign of slowing its growth so I imagine their view would be that M&S is a liability, and represents a risk that it doesn't need. Oh with regard to Ocado I don't imagine that Amazon want that business either but they could do with some of their innovators and engineers. An area for debate maybe. JJ

They launched their 'planes from the UK so it does make us a very real target. Not a joking matter.

The MKS update may prove of no consequence whatsoever. JJ

Threeputt a village outside Henley on Thames and too close to London for my comfort. I think you are relatively safe being close to the Somerset levels although you have a Nuclear Power Station close by. I feel for the grandchildren, the eldest has just had her 18th birthday. Its a very unsettling moment in our history. For most of my lifetime I had thought we had learned our lesson about War. Peace, if only Greenham Common had had a much wider impact. JJ

Motley should be enjoyed for its amusement value and not seen as a useful investment tool all IMHO.

Right now the USA is close to starting WW3; and with the UK being very much in the firing line; this is not a joke. JJ

I wonder whether MKS should be two separate businesses. You have only to look at the food business and how much square footage it utilises compared to the rest. The nearest store to me is in High Wycombe and you rarely see many men in there buying, or even looking. Its on two levels, the first floor could be converted to flats, and the ground floor be used to expand the food offering and deliver the clothing products to women. Men can be catered for wholly online. The World is changing fast and MKS needs to change much much faster. The John Lewis store for High Wycombe is out of town with free parking and on Sunday it was very busy.

Who wants to pay for parking when shopping, who wants the hassle of getting in and out of multi storey parking, not me. JJ

Now expecting MKS to drop below £3 and won't be surprised if we see £2.50 in this quarter. Agree food figures will be good but the rest of the business is not in good health, this is my very personal view of looking at the offer.

Hi Lucky I have two sovereigns and one half all Victorian inherited from my Nan, she kept them in her sewing basket, and stupidly I never got the story behind them. She was born in 1894. Now I take quite an interest in family history but many of the stories are lost to me. We must tell the grandchildren what we do know.

Can we get to £7 by the results day.? JJ

Currently stuck in a bit of a rut, however still confident that we will be @ £4.50 or more sometime this year. Simply need to enjoy the bumpy ride. JJ

Fender my NWG are up £2.52 in the same period, with a beautiful div yield so can afford to smile when reviewing my MKS.

I invest, and don't expect all investments to deliver each and every year.

I'm still of the opinion that MKS will be above £4 soon enough. Maybe Premium Bonds would suit you better, which I use for liquidity, average yield tax free of almost 4% over the last 5 years as had a 'win' of £5,000. Now need a nice January win to treat you to some tasty grub. JJ

I have a preference for share buyback rather than special div as it raises the value of our shares and reduces the cost of paying any div in future, if you get my drift. There is a good chance we will see NWG share @ £7 in the first quarter of '26 IMHO. JJ
