Hoping they're just shaking the tree in advance of the expected RNS re the Tirupati JV and receipt of the remaining Tranche 1 funds but can never be sure. Last RNS said news was expected in the next 12 days. That was very specific, but would put the JV announcement this week...

Dripping with blood - anyone else noticed a heavily pessimistic start to autumn on AIM? Half my watch list has even lower volumes than during the summer "lull" and several are tanking....

Well the share issues at BSM was announced last night and the price dropped 0.3c / 18% so we're about to find out. But I did hear a whisper that Bizzell are about to publish a research note on BSM next week and a Bizzell partner has been appointed onto the Bass BOD so we might be about to see how Bass performs with the incentivised team and brokers

It's all at the mercy of the market but it's looking very much as though the winds have swung sure substantially in our favour with the exchange rate and BSM sp performance. When I spoke to Brett 6 weeks ago (I was in no way soft on him - I had a lot of questions) I was left with the impression that Vatomaina was an even better plot than Lohorano, so there should be 2 prospects driving Stratmin forwards now - assuming the JV gets final approval etc

Mate reckons there will be a note with 4c near term target on BSM so that would be 2.5 bags from here and 4 bags for Stratmin's tranche 1 (assuming they haven't forward sold it - ASX a lot stricter about that kind of stuff so unlikely)

Whenever I've seen them they come out of nowhere. 2 root causes - a buyer or closing shorts. Either way the purchaser of shares wants the cheapest deal so there's no telegraphing in advance. I've speculated a few are short on here but no-one knows for sure. The gaps are there on the chart, and since there hasn't been that much money raised off the SP some of them should be filled IMO. As always there are complications, such as LTHs disappearing, the concert party evaporating... But with a greenfield JV project building on the knowledge and experience BB and SP had patching Lohorano coupled with Mr Poddar's career knowledge of the grey semimetal coupled with a projected trend reversal in the Graphite market, on top of the favourable fx for the Bass deal and BSM still 60% up on the first tranche share payment price..... Well I am expecting it to happen, first stop 3p. Might be slow and easy but should get there IMO. DYOR of course.

Bloody annoying but I've been waiting 18 months for fortunes to change and we just saw a major major shift in this business so I'm prepared to wait a few more months to see how this plays. Confidence returning, starts with a trickle - but a stream is required to tip the share into a rerate, but all the hallmarks are here IMO. These things tend to jump at you when you have given up expecting them...

ASX announcement last night "Bass successfully completes rights issue": http://www.asx.com.au/asx/statistics/displayAnnouncement.do?display=pdf&idsId=01773745 AFAIK that was the final completion criteria in the deal 'subject to....' clauses. I believe this fund raise on BSM funds the mine and, after all the due diligence and information posted by Bass Metals, including detailed and fully-costed expansion plans in the prospectus(es), we should expect production to increase accordingly and us to make Tranche 2 criteria. Personally I believe we will meet that sooner that many cynics left over from Old Stratmin days would expect. GLA

According to today's fx aud1.5m equates to gbp868k so hopefully we are making a margin on the fx as well as benefiting from the bsm sp spike. Events outside our control really couldn't have played better imo

Having run or worked at a high level in several tech cos I don't think £300k to develop the app sounds extortionate. And I doubt reading the updates that £300k spent developing the company's flagship investment is either here nor there, from the sounds of it. Sounds like the bulk of shareholders cash has gone elsewhere - lossy investments, emoluments, etc must surely have dwarfed the £300k spent on software development?

Is expected on Tuesday. In addition, it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility that Stratmin could have been selling BSM shares whilst they are trading above the 1c/share that Stratmin 'paid' for them through the sale. Anyone notice a gap up this morning, coming after a shake earlier in the week, might be thinking this is an acknowledgement that Stratmin is now rebuilding its balance sheet and therefore the likelihood of picking up cheap placing shares is receding IMO.

Interesting - wonder if STGR are (able) to take some of that profit from their shares? BB seems pretty switched on to ASX in my conversations with him - personally if I had taken 1c shares as part of a deal and were able to take profit at over 100% I would do, especially given there is tranche 2 shares to be had - hopefully reasonably soon. Would be a nice Christmas present, wouldn't it?!

Also I'm sure I read in one of the past RNSs that the BOD are committed to commuting their debts at 2.5p SP?? If I'm right and they did that, might go some way to turning the doubters and getting a rise here to stick. Should be 3p once the money is in I reckon, DYOR and GLA

She's not coming back, Marco. Bass will look after her plus she'll pay for the kids, on time. Meanwhile it's time to move on -> Vatomaina JV. The things that have been different since last summer is that Brett and Shishir care AND have the skills to do this. Give them a call. Meet them. Then get back to me.

The tone of the posters today sounds very much like the voices last year. Only last year they were saying the mine was shot and no amount of BOD changes could fix this. This year they're bemoaning the fact we had to sell the mine for peanuts to make it work. It's either a de-ramper from a sorry-arsed crew or he's itchy because Arminus boffed his missus

Was looking like it would pop earlier on this morning, with upwards pressure on the bid - last time we saw a good rise here, about a year ago, it was a buyer slurping off the bid. But alas as you say, selling earlier on got too much with not enough buying support. Doesn't alter the fact that this is currently trading under half the deal total value, with a new JV planned and the Bass putting the finance package together to make all tranches achievable.

Also, given the cynical nature of AIM, the best rise might come when the cash is received. Plus hoping for some JV news in the not too distant future.

JV is now the crucial thing to sort out IMO. We have sold our producing asset, but kept a stake in the future of that through the BSM shareholding. Using the proceeds of that sale to fund our half of the JV mine will also keep us in the game with our own mine. De-risked potential through Bass plus a mine of our own. Which could be up and running quicker than anyone things, having Tirupati on board I'm thinking 12-18 months.
