George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
A few things I noticed:
1) Despite the claim that SEE is focusing on transport, PM has mentioned for a second time that they would consider licensing their precision eye-tracking IP for use in other sectors (smoke without fire?);
2) The Fleet graph on slide 15 seems to suggest that SEE chips will be appearing in trucks from 2024.
Another observation, the Cenkos note bogyo posted earlier suggested FY25 auto revenue to be A$248m. On the assumption Cenkos are working on auto revenues doubling every year from now until 2025, the numbers look like this:
FY21 A$15.5m
FY22 A$31m
FY23 A$62m
FY24 A$124m
FY25 A$248m
Now I’ve seen SEE’s post referring to Cat as a Guardian 2 distributor I agree with you Esc. I wonder if SEE’s other distributors will soon be able to access this product... that would be very special.
Hi JC. Do you have any thoughts on whether the smart phone might be built specifically for purpose, or whether the fatigue monitoring functionality could be achieved via a downloaded app? Either way, we are talking about the integration of eye-tracking into a hand held device so this is big news.
Caterpillar Inc. set to distribute #Guardian Gen 2, by Seeing Machines through its global dealer network for on-road vehicles, complementing the rugged Driver Safety System that manages #fatigue and #distraction risk in Mining vehicles. We are proud to be working together to enhance #safety across this massive industry.

Great find Klick. Sounds as though another licensing deal could be announced soon. The company’s momentum is excellent at the moment.
Following on from the AutoSense NZ presentation posted a few days ago (which suggested there were 30,000 connected Guardian units), it’s not impossible to conceive that we are rapidly closing in on this figure.
From Whatif’s graph, we know the average 2am/2pm km figure in December 2019 (last pre-COVID ‘normal’ figure) was around 2,650,000, when the number of connected Guardians was 20,551.
20,551/2,650,000km x 3,600,000km = 27,918 Installed Cameras
However, when I used this method across earlier results where the installed camera figure was know, the answer turned out between 1000 to 2000 units short i.e. the number of connected units now could feasibly be between 28,000 and 30,000.
Hi Whatif,
Your last 2am/2pm data set (Friday last week) had the average October kilometres at around 3,450,000. However, over the last 6 days, I’ve calculated an average of 3,750,000, which gives 3,600,000 on average for October to date.
This suggests to me that Fleet is having a very good month. Do your figures suggest something similar?
This might explain it. Not a good market to target after all.

Hi Whatif,
TLS explained the complexities surrounding DMS use in HUDs a month or 2 ago (please watch the attached from minute 4:00 to see the ID.4 HUD in action).
It would appear the ID.4 does have a DMS but, as to who supplies the DMS, very little is known.

However, PM ‘liked’ this post recently so read into that as you wish.

From the below, I’d also expect DMS to feature.
“In the tech department, both the EQA and EQB are expected to feature the latest driver assistance gear. Those sitting behind the wheel will have other gizmos available, such as the semi-autonomous driving system and the latest MBUX infotainment and digital instrument cluster.”

Would anticipate the S-Class tech would roll into these. I’ll add them to the list.

From 23rd September 2019:
“FY2020 Company revenue is expected to be in the range A$45 to A$50m, reflecting an increase of over 40% on FY2019”
“Connected Guardian units are expected to be in the range 27,000 to 30,000 units by 30 June 2020, reflecting 68% growth on FY2019”
I’m predicting FY2021 revenue in the range of A$55 to A$60m (figures do not include any upfront payments, of which, I believe, the booking of circa A$20m will mean SEE breaks even in FY21).
I’m also predicting there will be circa 35,000 connected Guardian units.
Anyone else got their own thoughts on the FY21 outlook?
