RE: Arbitration - activity16 Jan 2025 21:19
As I've said in the past the efforts of the Mex gov don't appear to support their intent to seriously develop lithium antime soon, notice the deliberate reference to the concession areas not being looked at by litoMX - a couple of paragraphs from this article published yesterday:

LitioMX obtained lithium carbonate in mid-2024 in a laboratory at the CONAHCYT Advanced Materials Research Center (CIMAV) in Chihuahua. After subjecting different clay samples to high temperatures, the company obtained “lithium carbonate with battery-grade purity.”
The director of LitioMX clarified that the clays processed at CIMAV were not collected from the national mining reserve zone “Li-MX1”, located in the Sierra Madre of Sonora, created by decree by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“The issue of reserves, concessions, the legal situation of what is happening with foreign companies and litigation is the sole responsibility of the regulatory sector of the Government, which is the Ministry of Economy in this case. LitioMX is, let’s say, like the operators. We have not been working on that part, that must be made very clear because we understand that it is a situation that is outside of our control. What process is there? Well, that is the responsibility of the Ministry of Economy. But the studies you mention, and the exploration sites, are in the surrounding areas,” he tells WIRED in Spanish.
Asked specifically whether LitioMX is carrying out exploration or exploitation work on Li-MX1, Taddei said: “The answer is no. We are in that area waiting for what the Ministry of Economy tells us. Everything we have reported is in the surroundings, or let’s say parallel to that site.”
