Thank you Ace, Trotsky, & Trek for your reply, very insightful.
2022 was certainly an interesting year re DEC hedges, some 46.60 % of total earned revenue, $895.8million being lost against pricing arbitrage strategies, quite a staggering amount really of total earned revenue.
I think I have now got my head the concept.I just like to view it now as losing a bet at the bookies , over time of course.
I don’t know what time periods DEC use for their hedging strategies, maybe they should break it down into smaller periods for control rather than a year at at a time?, and maybe should not be hedging as much as 70% to 85% of a years production?
Very, very complicated indeed, would take weeks for me to get my head around the 2022 accounts.
Maybe I should invest in the counter parties taking the hedge?
Thanks once again.
