Trek,
Only another 96m shares left to buy back before June30th 2024 in order to reach the stated target of 97m, as annouced on the 27th June.
Dec have only repurchased to a mere 1.36m to date I reckon.
Will they ramp up the BB's, who knows?
How long is the Telfer mine processing plant expected to keep going?
Based on the information available, it seems the Telfer mine processing plant is expected to keep operating for at least several more years:
‘Our strong exploration performance resulted in an expanded Exploration Target at East Ridge, highlighting the exciting opportunity for Red Chris as the Block Cave Feasibility Study continued to pursue a range of optimisation opportunities. Together with activities underway to maximise
the value of Telfer and Havieron, our global gold and copper portfolio is very well placed for the future.’

Sandeep Biswas, said “We are delighted to further extend the life of our Telfer operation, highlighting our ability to maximise the full potential of our assets through our strong technical expertise. Telfer is strategically positioned in the highly prospective Paterson Province and we are continuing to progress several potential options to expand the resource base in the open pits and
underground to unlock additional value,” said Mr Biswas
Recent processing plant upgrades, such as the $146 million expansion in 2019, indicate Newcrest plans to utilize the plant for years to come. Upgrades expand capacity and extend the operating life.
So based on Newcrest's production scheduling, resource estimates, and plant investments, the current expected lifespan of the Telfer processing plant is likely at minimum to 2027, with opportunities to potentially operate longer depending on further exploration and reserve growth.

Who is responsible for making the announcement?
'Before it has approached the target board, the potential bidder is responsible for making any announcement required under the City Code. Once an approach has been made to the target board, the target company is as a general rule responsible for making any announcement. However, if an approach is rejected by the target board, the announcement obligation will typically revert back to the potential bidder.'

Toffers,
‘Whether we take their 70% who knows, but with Shaun running off for an MRE of his own, it makes me think he wants to sell and bank the loot, and move on to concentrate fully on the other things that Greatland has in the pipeline’
I strongly disagree.
No way will SD want to sell our 30% IMHO.
SD has built a very strong and talented management team specifically for the long term development of GGP relying on the cashflow provided from Havieron over the lifetime of the mine etc.
I also understand from reading some of the TH meeting feedback comments on TG, that the current management team would then be (top heavy.. my words). So, if we sold our 30% and reverted back to an explorer and not a ‘Developer’ why the need to employ expensive senior heavy hitters if you like?
Answer back today from ii re Voting process:
'As GSTechnologies Ltd does not hold a GB ISIN the voting event is not initially supported by our voting service provider. This means we will need to manually submit voting elections to them and once processed the voting event will show through your ii account. Please can you confirm your voting election preferences for the event at your earliest convenience. '
‘But which companies qualify? Unfortunately, there is no definitive list of which companies qualify for Business Property Relief, largely due to the qualification status of a company easily changing over time.
For instance, non-qualification would apply to a company that is being sold or wound up, as well as a company with dual trading on a recognised overseas exchange. ‘

Just to add, in that scenario, the only way we could get a lower price for a package deal would be if a large discount was applied in respect of Telfer because of the no doubt large associated decommissioning costs at such a time in the future.
Then and only then once mining Havieron had commenced we could make an annual provision for when that time arose, IMO.
Frigger,
Re: 'An updated MRE should make us more valuable so also a better price if we’re bought out by a bigger company, however if we want Hav we want to downplay the MRE so we can purchase at a lower price. A double edged sword indeed.'
Another game of chess? but don't you also think that NEM will also have the same data as GGP from NCM as to what their 70% of Havieron is really worth?, of course they will.
AHS,
Re: Why were you not able to vote Jiffy?
I'm with Interactive Investor and normally can vote electronically through their platform as I have for many other holdings etc.
For some unknown reason to me GST was not available on their system last year.
Going to chase it up tomorrow.
Billy,
That's an interesting reply.
Fact is I wasn't able to vote last year, that's why I asked the question.
Going to quizz Interactive Investor again on Monday.
Have sent an e-mail to IR's and Tone Goh on a couple of points including ability to vote.
Will let you all know if I get a decent reply.
Resolution 4: It's an authority to issue UP TO to 800,000,000 shares , hardly likely IMO that they would do that in one fell swoop. Would have to be for a very special reason , ie further aquisitions, marketing, web development, licences, staffing etc.
Resolution 4: THAT in substitution for all existing authorities previously granted, approval is given for the Company to issue up to 800,000,000 new Shares (Last years was 700,000,000 shares) in accordance with Article 8 of the Company’s M&A, at the Company’s discretion at such times and on such terms as the Directors deem fit.
How many of you were able to vote last year?
