The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Redrunner,
Agree with all that you say. Many LTH's like myself WILL NOT BE CAPITULATING anytime soon simply because we or at least I think that whatever way this eventually turns out to be there is a real potential 5hitload of gold and copper down there in Havieron once we start to fan drill from the top of the Ore Body?.
It's all a question of whether NEM is prepared to wait and see given it's desire to make up to $2 billion through asset sales and re-planning mine developments across its global portfolio etc, and what timelines they attach to that against a backdrop of ensuring Telfer has a long term meaningful supply of ore/ life etc?
That IMHO is the only reason they may or may not divest.
Are they prepared to wait and see what comes up over the next 12 months?, I think so, or at least I would if I were TP.
Good post Bandit.
Yes sadly the British AIM market is grossly over manipulated and always has been.
All Gobbeldly Gook , the more you read the greater the confusion, that’s the whole idea behind it?.
Fact is the ‘City of London’ is a law unto itself and always has been, but for for YOUR benefit ?
‘The Spider’s Web: Britain's Second Empire, is shows how Britain transformed from a colonial power into a global financial power. At the demise of empire, City of London financial interests created a web of offshore secrecy jurisdictions that captured wealth from across the globe and hid it behind obscure financial structures in a web of offshore islands. Today, up to half of global offshore wealth may be hidden in British offshore jurisdictions and Britain and its offshore jurisdictions are the largest global players in the world of international finance. How did this come about, and what impact does it have on the world today?

Nothing will change as long as the AIM market exists, just hope SD gets us off it and cross lists us to the Main Market asap!
Interesting article 5x5,
On the one hand we have 'The Telfer Mine remains a strategic asset for Newmont' ie, “If you have infrastructure – a copper concentrator, an airstrip, a village in the northern part of the Pilbara – it’s really important that you understand the strategic potential of that infrastructure, as well as the potential of the Havieron deposit and beyond the Paterson district,” he told The Australian.

And on the other hand we have;
“I know the Pilbara well. It is one of the great mining postcodes in the world,” he said.

“In the Paterson district you have got the Telfer deposit itself, you’ve got Havieron and other opportunities that may exist around that area. You would want to have a good long, hard look at Telfer before making any decision.”
Northern Star Resources and Evolution, the next two biggest gold miners on the ASX after Newcrest disappeared from the boards, have both indicated a lack of interest in Telfer and Havieron.

'You would want to have a good long, hard look at Telfer before making any decision.”
Chess is such an interesting and let's face it stressful game at times?
Bottom line, IMHO and this is my own personal view after reading both articles, suggests to me that we are going to have to wait for maybe at least another 12 months before we really know what NEM's intentions will be towards Telfer/Havieron.
Let's hope that SD and TP can agree a strategy asap and that we or others find a new source of gold/copper to keep Telfer going for many years , this will be the deciding factorfor sure, IMHO.
HG,
Not a 100% commitment as yet IMHO, listening to Tom Palmer in that video.
Yes, Telfer in an important / strategic aquisition with an inbuilt infrastructure etc but we know that!
I personally get the feeling that at this juncture, Tom is simply playing a game of let's wait and see what transpires, so nothing as yet is really 100% cast in stone and defenitive as yet.
Going to have to wait for the results of an updated MRE, FS, etc before we even start to see Tom crowing loudly to all and sundry on the benefits of Havieron, all in IMHO.
OK, lets get back to reality shall we?.
What do we require right now?
News on on progress is what we need and as I have said before all should be e-mailing IR's and make them sweat a bit for their fees?
Put it this way, if we don't get an update before the end of of 2023 I will start to wonder WTF is going on?
Come om Tone and Shane....throw us a bone or two.
Excellent article that MHO1, just been reading it for the first time today albeit 2 weeks ago when it was first published.
I like Charles Archer he does a very good analysis of GGP it's management, NEM/NCM, future potential re already owned licences, Rio etc, etc...probably one of the best write ups I have seen on Greatland Gold for a very long time.
Would urge all holders to read it ,if you can. .
BollyR,
I and I suspect many other LTH's with an average of way, more than the current SP, will NOT be looking anytime soon to exit just yet.
There is so much more to look forward to just now re 'Other potential ' discoveries that we all await re RIO & South Pilbara, and the upcoming Ernest Giles drilling etc, etc.
Thing for me and most harderned LTH's right now is we are more than willing to just sit this out, there is no rush, no pressure whatsoever in any event at this moment in time to sell up.
I actually think we are now entering an exciting upward phase of the Lassonde curve , and will soon be departing the Orphan phase sooner than you think, and that means the SP will increase incrementally as we get nearer to actual mining/production and FCF.
CP,
Very good breakdown of Short Interest, Shares On Loan, Utilization & Cost To Borrow (Explained) just another piece of the jigsaw puzzle. Basically IMHO shares on loan does not neccesarily equate to shares currently being shorted.
