Ditto Paddyboy, same boat as you but bought in after the initial January drop and topped up after the Adnoc suspension which is why I feel that being lifted will further boost this considerably.
What I'm trying to gauge is pre covid ( and with sfo investigation ongoing) the share price was considerably higher, so what is an accurate SP now, or is that dependent on the fine ?
Also looking at the last trading update and loan facility, it very much looks like there will be enough liquidity to cover the fine, so I'm just hoping that the court will consider the financial cost already incurred by the company and shareholders given the length of time this investigation has lasted.

I would say that a lot depends on the type of person you are and what personality you have.
I can relate to your sentiment completely, too many times I've let my imagination run away with things only to be cut down sharply and quickly.

I have watched my portfolio shrink by approximately 70k since June, mainly down to four shares, CINE, NEX, IAG, and Petrofac.
And now during the last week those paper losses have reduced to about 25K, mainly because IAG and PFC have turned it around and I am now nicely in profit, and CINE and NEX have both increased somewhat, and although I am still big in the red with CINE and a little bit with NEX, I feel slightly less stressed and almost relieved to not be that much down, only this much down, if that makes sense.

So I am not celebrating until I am well in profit especially with CINE, I am always going to expect to get knocked back with this share unfortunately, that's the nature of the volatility that goes with it, and given how much it is shorted, this is never going to be an easy ride.

So thanks for my much needed dose of reality.
And like most on here, I am hoping that next week we get more of the same.

You're probably right though, how often do you find a defendent sentenced at a plea hearing, unless it's all been fast tracked from Westminster on Friday and pre- determined that both Lufkin and PFC will be sentenced together.
And PFC have already mentioned in their RNS possible adjournment.
We may have to wait a bit longer for absolute clarity on the financial impact, and knowing the b----y markets if its Lufkin only sentenced Monday, the argos may knock the SP back down a bit.
Whatever happens Monday, its got to be a medium term hold now.

I read that statement as PFC being the defendent, Lufkin has already pleaded guilty and his sentencing hearing was adjourned twice.
This is from the PFC RNS.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place at Southwark Crown Court commencing on Monday 27 September 2021. The Company will make a further announcement following sentencing or any adjournment.

The hearing will be listed on the daily court list on Monday morning.
I think the ADNOC suspension was to be seen to "Do the right thing" as came shortly after Lufkin pleaded guilty to 3 further charges, and I'm hoping it gets lifted very soon.
It's very hard to gauge what the SP should be now, considering covid impact etc, what would it have been without the SFO fiasco.

I stuck around and been averaging down to just over a quid.
That suspension earlier in the year caused a significant drop, and its barely recovered since then, so I think that will be a catalyst also.
When you think about, there really isn't many shares in circulation, so only about 15 million short.
I remember earlier in the year we said on this board fir everyone to set limit orders on their stock to remove them from availability for MMs to loan out or even sell, that would pump the price right up imo

Some people have been suggesting that a quite sizeable fine is baked in to the SP now, what do people think?
And is this likely to get ADNOC to lift the suspension on bidding?

Last time it was that low was in midst of increasing cases, restrictions and really bad market sentimentvpre vaccines, so unless there is a mutant strain and further lockdowns, hopefully won't drop to those levels again.
NEX have a trading update and capital markets day in October, hopefully profits to be reported.
And in the grand scheme of things, the short position is fairly low.

Shame the sp dropped after close, think it will open 234.90 tomorrow.
Damn w-----s AKO increased their short again yesterday, but Marshall Wace reduced and now below 0.5.

Hopefully get some clarity / certainty within the next week re capital markets day / ongoing acquisition, this yoyo movement is doing my head and patience in!

Can't imagine the delay is trading related as expectations in this covid era and the bidding suspension are already known.

Dow and ftse both well up, NEX back down again, sold 10 k shares for smallish loss yesterday leaving me with 30 k, wish I had sold more now.
