Can't really win here, it's either payment sector sell off, oil price drop and middle Eastern sell off, or whatever tickles their fancy.
Hopefully may get a bounce, but not holding my breath for a while.
I've written off most of my stocks now until next year.

It was also interesting that the AZ CEO announced earlier in the week that they needed to start charging for vaccines!!
What I found most telling was when Chris W said the one thing we can all do is raise a glass and toast the scientists at Christmas. I think he was hinting at a normal Xmas.

Sky news in full flow today focusing on all the negative stuff disregarding positives and how things are very different now.
However it is obviously major enough for the PM to do a press conference today, hopefully to calm everything down ( if he is capable), and imo I think that markets woukd react better to for example certainty around implementing plan B rather than constant speculation etc etc.
Problem is what he says cannot be trusted because he has a history of u turning and sometimes really quickly.
Hopefully it turns out no different to Delta.

I still don't get how this was slammed nearly as much as some travel stocks, 3-4% would make sense but why over 10%, cant get my head round that.

IMO the markets were looking for any excuse to give it a battering!
There's been a few short lived downturns based on inflation / interest rates / economy slowing, but this time the brakes were off with certain sectors.
It's not the same as before because there WILL be tweaked vaccines available should that be necessary.

Think that they were talking about dividends at the end of 22 if I'm not mistaken, I'm happy to hold for at least another year at this price.

I know it's demoralising.
Everytime I lower my average here or on NEX, CINE etc etc , and I feel relatively content with my average even when down, they fall back.
Not sure I understand why this one is so down, the obvious is it's African connections /strands.

I have had 70k wiped off my portfolio this week, the 10 k down I am here doesn't worry me in the slightest, in fact I don't mind being so down on all my stocks except 1 which is my biggest regret, Cineworld. I am 50 k down on CINE owning 190k shares, but PFC is the least of my worries.

This is just brutal, here we go again.

Don't know if this is relevant but the presentation on 30th is 1pm which is 8 hours ahead of Vegas, so any US announcement is likely to be Monday.

Canetoad already told us he has been advised by IR that a pre close update will come mid December, date to be confirmed.

Come on guys, all the news is positive really, some decent recent films, good upcoming slates, no significant covid worries in the US, a recent positive trading update despite the like for like Oct 19 and 21 figures a little misleading due to 4 and 5 weekends respectively, yesterday the entire performance of the travel and leisure sector was fairly comparable with the exception of Entain and CINE. Cineplex and Cinemark slightly down yesterday, but not in the same league as CINE.
So you have to ask yourself, what really is going on here ?
The only consolation for me is cineworld 15th 67 and 24th 53.80 down 20% odd, cinemark 15th 20.53 and 24th 16.91 down 18% odd, and Cineplex 15th 14.28 and 24th 13.13 down 8% odd.
So we relatively similar to cinemark but that's about it. All the others they mentioned plus cineplex have held far better than us, and today many travel and leisure stocks have rebounded somewhat, why not CINE ?

Be interesting to see if it holds today, especially this afternoon whilst the yanks aren't around!

Yeah but look at the subsequent week to 10 days following the TU, it consistently rose, and just maybe they might bring forward their update to try and maintain momentum on the back of this, especially if the update shows further progress
I'm not selling because of that.
