No matter how each individual poster on here interprets the RNS the general concensus is the company would be better off with a CEO in charge and have CB take a back seat in the running of the company.

I think he's no longer really capable of running several companies at once and when you think about it, the people below him who are responsible for the day to day running of all these companies know he will get all the flack for their shortcomings so aren't really motivated to do the job properly. Just a thought.

The 92% relief sounds like it's tax relief as opposed to a 92% payment to the company, so you have to pay capex up front and then claim it back when you start making a profit I assume.

100% agree jollygoodya as I said earlier this week, follow the money and they are leaving, we could very well have an anti oil govt next year. Why didn't Repsol sell the licence, probably because nobody wanted it.

It sounds good getting 92% relief on your capex but as soon as you've earned that back you are then paying the windfall tax at full rate so you are just being busy fools.

The shareholders should be consulted before any more money is thrown into the North Sea, it will take years to get to production and many millions, the SP would take big hit on the annoucement and take a loong time to recover. If they are going to buy something, buy a producing field and make money from day one.

And not a ramper in sight.

The posts this morning remind me of the last time we were thinking of more North ses investment, we were in the high twenties then. The North Sea caused the SP to languish in the mid to high teens and now look where it is.

Until the company wash their hands of this expensive and difficult area I don't think we will see 20p again for years, if ever.

This RNS opens up a whole new period of worry for investors IMHO.
