My only comment on price would be that the only real way to compare value here on the journey is to work at the trend of the market capitalisation. I have certainly lost track with all the placings. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a site that gives MC trends for UK companies but if anyone knows of one I would be very interested.

I suspect Wood Group isn’t the only company that is going to have some governance tyres kicked!

Why call for an independent review? Possibly because the BoD disagree with the audit on a technical point - so they agree to get an independent view. Could it be as simple as that? Rather than having a qualified statement with open questions, the BoD are to get the matter settled with an independent view. Im not saying that is the case but I am saying that it could be the case.

Can I politely suggest that today, in particular, is a time for reflection and context in all things.

I know that there has been lots of conjecture and comment on the forthcoming review. I can't help but feel that the company is in disagreement with the auditor on a particular governance and / or adoption of an accounting principle and hence the agreed approach for an independent assessment. If it was a blatant case of error or oversight and it was brought to the companies attention, then surely it could easily have been corrected and the market advised. It just feels like the company disagrees with the auditor and a stalemate position was reached in opposing views and the only way to proceed was with parties agreeing to the independent review. Feels like the outcome will be either the company is vindicated or the FD will be removed and changes to governance made.

In terms of the size of some of the sales on Thursday, again conjecture on my part but feels like a domino / snow ball effect - with auto sales playing an exaggerated part in the toppling effect, which in turn influences herd behaviour.

I suspect that when the outcome is know we will have yet another valuable investing lesson to reflect upon.

I would imagine that this now constitutes a closed period for management purchases until the outcome of the review is made public.

They will get 25% in Holdings when they pay the next $500K

You need strong foundations to build a £1B+ company. Foundations such as negotiating, closing deals, exploration and sharing the news and taking stakeholders on the journey.

Lots of work progressing on all of these fronts which I personally believe will translate into growth and wealth.

Exciting times!! News could drop at any time.

One other thought - with Omar’s ambition I wouldn’t discount another natural resource project within the next 6 to 12 months. Speculation on my part.

Looking back at the graph I should have said 560,925 traded rather than purchased

Thought I would download the trades so far off the London Stock Exchange and see what I could learn

- largest trade at 8.46 - 3,777,7772 shares - 53.7 paid (£2,028,663)

- 560,925 shares purchased at 08.00.11 - 48.62 paid (£272,721)

- 80 trades all at 08.00.37 - average amount £159 - a lot of single digit purchases

- some large obvious buys and sells given the same number of shares e.g. 76303 shares - I spotted 5 of these and they all had one thing in common - they all made between 9.2 and 9.7 % profit - so not 10% but close enough.

I can't do anything with the data other than play with for my interest but thought I would share

Managing expectations I doubt you will hear anything new at the AGM unless it happens to coincide with news that would have been released in any event.

When news hits the posts here will be in the 100's daily.

Some might just look at the day chart and think 15% up is getting a little rich - think again and look at the 5 day chart - 55% down. Still at crazy low prices ladies and gentlemen in my personal view because the tyres (no - tyre) is going to be independently kicked.

60p for an ass slap might attract some wrongun's here!
