ID78 obviously I am not a miner but I would imagine that it is not as simple as pushing a button and we ramp up production to whatever number we want. This is a new find and mining only commenced March 9th and they are already processing 360tpd as per the RNS - that sounds to me as a layperson impressive given the standing start from the new zone - posters with industry knowledge will be able to enlighten us with the infrastructure / preparatory work just to extract and get the tonnage to the mill. I don't want any false starts here - going hell for leather and then it's unsustainable - trenching drilling and sampling has been mentioned - this needs to happen in a coordinated, sustainable way and increase / optimise production as the geos and production team get into the swing. All this takes cash of course for consumables etc and so we need to be mindful of cashflow. This is hard, complex work and little things can create challenges - just look at the twitter today and the loss of power - quickly sorted but those are the unforeseen events that can occur. So in summary for what it's worth, I trust Robbie to ramp up production in a steady, controlled sustainable manner and I look forward to the next market update on grades and in the near future. This is a marathon not a sprint.

Legalwolf - slightly confused but then you just might not have seen the RNS on the high grade area released on March 21st?

We will not hear new news - but it will be positive given it will be the investment case FOR.

Just tweeted that they will be releasing a presentation on the investment case for Caracal on Sunday evening - should be interesting.

The current SP is an irritant - no getting away from it but for me there are 2 very big reasons not to be panicking:
1. Gold - and where the price is going - we are entering into very choppy water in the general markets - central banks are struggling to keep any kind of control and trust is diminishing in my view.
2. Robbie has laid out a clear timeline for funding - advanced negotiations on the back of previous lessons learned. Independent technical study to be carried out in the next few weeks and lawyers already hard at work. Let that last bit sink in - lawyers already engaged contemporaneously - normally that happens consecutively and shows a high degree of confidence in the technical outcome from both sides.

Anyone who is worried abut the GCAT SP chart, do yourself a favour and look at the POG chart - approaching 1995 now and that's the game we are in.

POG now back to 1991 - not surprising given what is happening in the markets

Just continuing my reading on commentators thoughts abut Gold. This observation sums it up for me:

It is that hedge, it is that asset of the highest quality with no credit or counterparty risk.

And that's why I love gold and undervalued gold miners! Personally I am expecting POG to be back above £2K next week BWTFDIK

Agreed SW - nothing but positive news from the company recently and more to come in the relative short term given the financier's technical assessment team are on site in a few weeks and the lawyers are already working on the contract - hows that for confidence for you from all sides!! Once the finance is in place the real fun begins here. Not so long in mining and investment terms.

I am an unabashed supporter of Caracal - no hiding that. I’m reading more and more commentary though about just how broken the financial systems are in the west and the inevitability of a major correction and possible fundamental global change in the role that gold could play in backing currencies in the future. Gold miners should be a feature of everyone’s portfolios going forward. The future is daunting frankly and the best that you can do is to prepare your finances as best you can. A sobering thought as we head into the weekend but I would encourage everyone to read widely in the issue.

Thanks for the detailed response Clued - appreciated. My memory is rubbish so yes I looked on your posting history before commenting on what I perceived to be a strange post. Good luck in your investment.

If they had done, one would assume that the financier would understand the positive impact that the news would have on the SP and selling at this point would be taking crumbs rather than waiting for the entree in my view.

Mining is a very serious business Sono***un - hard and potentially dangerous work if the health and safety protocols are not followed to the letter. So I guess not every team shout creates the same reaction as those morning retail sales rah rahs that some here might have experienced (and which frankly I detested but thats another story).

The longer the wait Mickey, the more pressure on the upside, the larger the correction in a shorter time frame. Patience is the investors friend here.

Thanks ID78 - corporate comms and especially interviews is a complex topic. In my previous life the execs were media trained and they didn't do a fraction of the interviews that Robbie is doing. You have a short time to convey key messages and one of the tricks is to keep it high level and simple - throw in a ton of complex numbers and the average punter is lost - you have to remember that we have a retail investor base here but there are some such as yourself who are very anayltical and want to explore the fine details of the numbers. That is not a criticism of you I hasten to add - I think that your posts are thought provoking, interesting and provide good balance. But to my way of thinking these bite size snap shot interviews are designed to provide the headlines, give context and how it feeds into the strategy. People remember high level round numbers and I think in the coming months that these will provide a useful framework around which to judge progress and performance. I trust the BoD to take care of the detail - as investors that is what we entrust them to do. If anyone don't trust the BoD then they really should not be invested here in my view.
