To my mind the placing price was set simply to entice a large investment in very quick time. Preplanned and absolutely nothing to do with the potential and future value here.

Traders are taking that number to try and increase their holding and or take a profit if they are able to forward sell.

Mere mortals such as myself might do well to look away for a few days and avoid the angst and wait for the inevitable bounce back.

Blubay - I understand perfectly and agree that the shares have already been forward sold. You are perhaps missing the point I was making - anyone putting forward this amount of cash must have surely known the outcome of the results or certainly agreed in principle subject to minimum threshold results having been achieved. Money like this does not get agreed overnight. As part of any large investor due diligence they would have considered a variety of future considerations - if they were smart they would have not simply relied on making a quick turn by forward selling with the benefit of the discount - to my mind that would have been too large a gamble given the sums involved but maybe we have some high stake gamblers bank rolling here.

These sums I think command a good sense of what the road ahead looks like but that is just my take. I didn't say they were here for the journey but I am willing to bet they know the route options.

Give the sizeable amount raised and the speed in which this was done, this would have taken weeks of negotiation. Whoever provided the funds is aware and presumably an NDA is in place. The only alternative scenario is this was a huge gamble based on the discount but who gambles with those sums?

My only conclusion is that there is a clear pathway to monetisation or maybe a number of potential pathways with one or more potential partners. Some smart people strategising and deal making in the background in my view.

I firmly believe that all will be revealed in time and it will all make sense.

Just my personal thought on the matter.

Peaks and troughs - like the aftermath of a storm, the sea takes a well to stabilise - use the waves to make progress or direct yourself into them and avoid capsizing.

If I am any judge we have rising sea levels here - but enough of my sea analogy after one final comment - avoid being sea sick!

Tongue in check suggestion as we wait for the dust to settle here. Make a hypothetical transaction here - first think what the SP is most likely to do in the next day or so and decide whether to buy or sell. Then do the opposite to what your gut is screaming out for you to do. See what the impact is. Remember this is all pretend money we are playing with in this game.

Apologies for repeating myself for the second time but I posted this on the day of the excellent results - the current volatility is predictable. The message I believe is worth repeating again....

Let’s face it - amazing news but SP movement after the initial surge on opening is all about traders trying to beat the next trader. Few will buy in quantity into a falling price until we have an established base and then we are likely to see a further couple of peaks and fall backs over the coming days as the rinse repeat cycle takes hold. We have seen this play out in similar fashion on so many stocks. Holding long term would certainly appear to be an increasingly sound play here but be prepared for short term angst. Great lessons in AIM unfolding right now.

Continue to learn the lessons here please - the fundamentals of the stock show amazing monetisation opportunities - in the short term however in the absence of additional news, it's like a pond evaporating and big fish eating smaller fish who dare to swim about. Suggest lying low and wait for the next rains to top up the pond.

The placing was a significant amount in todays market and filled with ease it seems with speed that can only be described as prearranged.

The speed in which the SP has bounced back today is reflective of the firm conviction that there is plenty left in the tank for SP growth in the short term. Its not often a stock movement surprises me - but today is another learning day for me personally. Fascinating.

MMs playing games - isn't this a frequent debating point and the reality is more to do with the mid point - a quick internet search will explain it - I found this which offers an explanation:

You cannot identify buys or sells as that information is not logged. Some data sources infer if a trade is a buy or sell by comparing the price to the spread at the time. However, this is known to be inaccurate, especially for a volatile stock or tight spread. Equally, there are usually different market makers with different spreads and different spreads depending on the volume traded.

So we have an imperfect system which the MMs and traders may or may not play to their advantage - that I don't know but given the volumes and volatility I suspect the system is just trying to match up a best guess as to whether its a buy or sell.

I don't personally subscribe to the conspiracy theories but maybe I am being naive here.

Yes they do happen and GGP is following the Lassonde Curve - hence my question as to whether there is any correlation with gold mining and Helium extraction - believe me when I say if there is, you will want to understand it....

Thanks Chesh - I am really hoping that somebody can throw light onto my questions- it would give a good future indication of movement assuming commercial quantities are identified. The discussion here certainly appears to be all about the short term as opposed to the bigger commercial picture and it’s the long term prospects that could include the institutional investors of course.

Thanks Taverham / Chesh - I have become quiet familiar with gold mining over the years and the normal timelines from discovery to monetisation but I have no clue when it comes to Helium extraction. Quite simply I don't know what I don't know but the questions in my mind would follow this line of thought if I am using gold extraction as a rough template

- volume of Helium commercially available - how is quantified and is there a JORC equivalent industry accepted basis for calculation

- is there any independent assessment required to be able to add to a balance sheet asset?

- cost and complexity of extraction? Big difference between gold and oil for example - is gas closer to oil?

- is there an equivalent of gold grade for Helium - concentration for example

- on site infrastructure requirements? Any type of conversion required to extract other gases?

-location and transport considerations?

- Helium - what is there global demand / present and future price expectations

- any local jurisdictional issues and what does the regulatory permissions landscape look like - mining permissions are often complex and wide varying going through a number of permissions between exploration and extraction

- timeline to monetisation - for me the most critical - if we were talking gold I think that the average is circa 10 years from discovery to extraction, maybe a little longer and that is why the big dip lasts for so long in the Lassonde Curve.

So as you can see my learning for Helium is in it's infancy and I am hoping that more experienced 'gas' investors here can add some more colour into the pathway ahead assuming the results are what we are all hoping for.
