Zelos. That is quite frankly ridiculous. 50 million at Hav would make it one of the best EVER mines. Then to extrapolate that twice again would make it like some of the best ever areas in South Africa! You may be right, but the probability must be fractions of 1%.

I spoke with an insto who runs a gold and silver fund. Wanted to see whether they had looked at GGP. I knew they werent an investor. They said too small. They preferred to invest in greater than billion MC, but would occasionally go lower, but not down to GGPs level. This disappoints me as while you shouldnt be all in illiquid stock, ignoring this segment of the market will crimp their returns as this is where the value is, if you are as bullish on precious metals as they are.
I am invested with them and so far their returns have been awful......

Morning Schlemiel. I am pretty sure the farm in document spoke of setting up a joint committee which has at least one person from each company on it. They would be reviewing all the drilling and planning etc, and probably get the results first. At least that is how it works in oil and gas.
As for someone saying have they moved from Hav to Scally? They cant. Its 100% owned by GGP and NC run the rigs on Hav. GGP will be getting their own kit.

An unsolicited hostile offer from NC would, in my opinion, be an unmitigated disaster. Don’t wish for that unless you are in for a quick buck.
We won’t get anything like a decent price let alone full value and we don’t have much long term support from ii so it wouldn’t be easy to defend it.

I think it’s absolutely 100% certain that there maybe a potential rumour of a possible takeover at an uncertain price at a time in the future we don’t know, concerning a stock that may or may not involve an Aussie who lives in Queensland.

When Hav starts mining I think we will be trading at 0p, cos we wont exist when that happens.

Flashy, if you are nervous about £500/11,000 shares then I dont really think this is for you. Make yourself a lot less nervous and buy some prem bonds or something else with no downside risk. No advice (although it sounds like it), just my opinion.

Oldtimer, regarding Scally, what would rate the % chances of success of a hit there? I have some experience of oil & gas and I cant recall a number higher than 30% for a commercial find. If you think 'likely' does that mean greater than 50%?

I really really dont think NC will go hostile on GGP. Any deal will be an agreed deal at GHs price. Can anyone remember a hostile deal in the mining sector where a junior miner got bought out against its will?
There was the Barrick deal in Tanzania but that was slightly different as (by memory) Barrick already owned 30 odd % and the company's relationship with the govt had broken down. Others?

Wasred they are a great team. Both seem to have complimentary skills to the other. If you like CB have a look at starvest where he is ceo and a large investor in ggp and a smaller investor in others. Not a cross ramp cos you need to do your own research and it’s pretty illiquid.

If you think BHP and/or NC may have a hard time, how will a third party get through the gates? These companies take an ultra long term view and arent easily put off by events in 3rd world countries. Just look at how Glencore dealt with their copper/cobalt biz and how Barrick dealt with Tanzania. Just cant see BHP being out muscled by any other party.

Morning Quady, I dont disagree with you. Its tough for anyone to go hostile. But I do believe there is only one owner of this 'mine' in the future and that is BHP.
Fortunately NC have their hands full with Red Chris and the most fantastic, beautiful and enormous deposit called Havieron!! (and yes I do own a few!).

I think that needs to be thought through. Bhp cant bid unless its agreed. If NC bid, it would release BHP, and BHP with much more firepower would win. So who would bid? No one.

The bullion banks have massive shorts on Comex etc (listen to Sprotts weekly). So if you thought that was a hedge against their inventory, why do none of them have any coins, ingots etc for sale. After not really being able to figure it out for a long time, I now think its v dodgy. IMHO!
