Its certainly a drag losing money on a mark to market basis. Since the high its big six figures. But I never had it, never spent it and I would guess that I always suspected that these sort of things happen. But if I thought I could be shaken out of my shares on this sort of move then I wouldnt own as many.
The great thing about miners and explorers is that as long as the sales price of the commodity doesnt fall, and its just market noise like we have yesterday/today, the risk/reward just gets better and the shares get cheaper on any fall.
I have held Solgold through its collapse to 10p a few weeks back. Never occurred to me to sell, and actually bought a few more. Similarly with GGP, the news hasnt got worse, its got better.
This isnt Boeing where they have probably lost some sales forever, or BA, where they wont get the lost revenue back, and the future is uncertain at best. Our assets havent diminished in size or value. In fact they have grown on both counts. So its an easy hold regardless of short term price fluctuations.
