Older, this isnt advice but you should look at Gold ETFs/ETCs and, for probably a higher beta, GDX and GDXJ, which are the indices for gold miners and junior gold miners. Just IMHO. I know speedy likes bullion and there is some merit in that. The Sprott weekly wrap up is a great podcast for gold bulls.

Magic, Just watching it again. In the spirit of cooperation: on some slides you have spelt Telfer, Telfur. Also I think some of us think that Telfer only has 3-4million ounces of gold left to mine. I am pretty sure that came from Newcrest, so you might want to check the latest announcements.

Tigger, its just a bit of sensible housekeeping. They are trying to issue some cheaper priced debt and with the proceeds buy in some shorter dated, higher coupon debt. The nett of it all is that their debt profile will have a longer duration and a lower interest rate. There is unlikely to be any material increase/decrease in the amount of debt.

I would be very disappointed if they didn’t reply. Gemma at starvest is UK based and I am pretty sure she is a geologist and they have a phone number on website. I think she also does some work for ggp and obviously Calum is her boss at starvest, so that might be another way in. In the past she has responded to my emails very quickly.

Magic, can I just add my grateful thanks to you for a very clear, informative and thought provoking presentation. Fascinating stuff. I am sure the vast majority all the holders will be illuminated by it, especially the long term holders. Please ignore the jealous criticism, and my advice would be to filter them out. 1gandhi, in some ways they have as technology has transformed exploration in last 30 years. They won’t have better than the big boys but they will have the nimbleness to deploy it better. Ggp are somewhat specialists in the Paterson, NC in Australia and Rios, well they are worldwide. So it’s not difficult to understand how and why ggp and other tiddlers got there hands on the acreage. Plus if gold was still 300 dollars nobody would have drilled anything around Telfer

Its the difference between a large slow moving bureaucratic organisation and a small nimble company. The small guys hoovered up what the big guys left behind.
Generally you cant just sit on great swathes of land without either doing some work or paying to hold. So when the price of gold got to $300 back in the 90s, there seems to have been a great divestiture by the big boys.

ScottChegg, I think you need to read and understand the requirements for inclusion in various FTSE indices. GGP will not be going in FTSE250 any time soon. Probably never.

Come on guys its not that difficult. With only one company to negotiate with (NC), GGP have to talk up the possibility of toll processing their 25/30%. Everyone knows they wont, it will be sold to NC. They are explorers not miners. Cash in, move on to Scally and Goliath, another farmin etc etc. GH has said it before many times. Bellers, one of the reasons for 'sterilisation drilling' is to ensure that they arent putting a decline where they should be mining. Latest theory is that the south part of Havieron is where they could be putting in the decline. It would make sense if they put the decline on the telfer processing side of the mine, assuming that they dont decide to move telfer to havieron!
A great quote from Solgold a few months ago was along the lines of 'one of our biggest problems is where to build the camp and decline because everywhere we have tried so far comes up full of gold and copper!'
