G/Teed profits12 Jun 2022 12:16
So let’s just look at what Centrica have been doing over the last year
Centrica plc preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2021
Strengthened and de-risked the balance sheet. Closing net cash of £0.7bn compared to net debt of £3.0bn at the start of 2021.
As part of the transaction, originally announced on 8 December 2021, all decommissioning liabilities associated with the assets (approximately £800m) will also transfer to the buyers. The final headline consideration may rise to $1.2 billion dependent on commodity prices.and completion of the transaction is expected to occur on 31 May 2022.
So net debt should be well down this year.
Now with gas / electric prices all going up Centrica will / have continued to make good profits because it’s the customers that will have to carry on paying their bills and with the government now giving Centrica £400 for every customer account it’s Centrica that will almost be G/Tee making good profits for the rest of this year and next, you could almost say the Government is paying Centrica’s profits.
So from where I am looking Centrica can’t lose, can they?
