I agree 100% with John Briggs. Tariffs were entirely different in the sense that the implications were long term. My sense is that Iran is isolated. None of the Sunni Middle East states are supportive and most feel Iranian activities are not conducive to the stability of their own regimes: and that leaves aside the religious differences that so divide. The fact that Israel has been able to blindside Iran also strengthens the hands of the Iranian moderates. I had every opportunity of selling on Friday when the SP got hit but I took the view that there would be no long lasting damage. Who knows whether I am right or wrong;I have no clue! This was a running sore that needed attention. The idea of religious maniacs having access to nukes doesn't bear thinking about. One final point....you can be certain China is right behind Israel, though would never admit. The Chinese have a deep fear of Islam!

I suspect global stock will take a hit. It will be days before Iran's brutal religious leaders understand that they are never to be allowed a nuclear weapon to fulfil their end of days mission. The mullahs will either back down or risk continued Israeli attacks and the extreme likelihood that if this goes on they will be abandoned by the military. If that happens, the long-suffering Iranian people will be free and the economy bounce.

I am about to change on a C. London office, so with cash in hand, I will be bargain hunting. There is not one Middle Eastern country that will come to the aid of Iran so we can see a period of peace on the horizon.
