Ford. his war is being fought to prevent a regime—one controlled by medieval religious hardliners—from acquiring nuclear weapons. These are weapons they have previously suggested they would be willing to use. Even more concerning is the possibility that such a regime would share nuclear capability with client terrorist groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, or perhaps the Houthis. In that scenario the weapons would likely not be strategic missiles, but tactical devices—something far harder to detect or defend against. The implications for the civilised world are difficult to overstate.
The strain of Shia ideology behind this regime contains apocalyptic elements: the belief that catastrophic destruction can form part of divine fulfilment. That context matters when assessing the risks.
Rather than repeating tired and poorly articulated critiques of capitalism, it might be worth trying a more original line of thought. After all, RR itself is a textbook example of capitalism in action.
Anyway, I’ll leave you to it. I’m off to my cave to count my gold.
You really are a rather harmless silly billy.
