You would think a consortium of leveraged PE funds could easily pocket a few relatively easy % margin. If they can buy MNG for a 6% yield and largely fund with debt at 2%…quids in

Not in doubt should be 99%+ of votes cast in favour of JXN becoming independent.

Great to see the collaboration with Beigene kick off.
Looks like they are being focused in targeting sizeable subsets of breast and endometrial cancer.

On 6 sept, 0013 joins the all share index, sub indices and the stock connect trading platform.

My post is just pointing out that it will not be joining the HAng seng index of top shares until it qualifies with a two year trading history in mid 2023…..it is likely to qualify as the index is itself expanding from 60 to 80 stocks which are being added at 3 or 4 per quarterly review. It may happen sooner if they relax the rules (but unlikely).

Welcome meter win and delivery on next grid scale battery project….these do seem to have long lead times….a year to commence building….but we should not complain about predictable growing revenues.
Still a buy and with more pipeline announcements in the future this is likely heading over 1000p in the not too distant future.

Looks like HCM will make the HSI in 2023….they are looking to expand the number in the main index from 60 to 80…..but without diluting quality or the rules…..Hcm is about the right size for admission, but needs a 2yr HK listing history at this size…….

It’s going to be a tricky and volatile few weeks….
Last few days of trading with JXN who knows what value JXN is embedded in Pru
Followed by trading ex JXN - there could be pent up demand for Pru Asia and the value of Pru+JXN could jump like Pru+MNG.
Safest not to trade…see what the individual values are and then decide what to buy/sell.

Gold5 I have not read anything about a special dividend post demerger…..
A special would be an insult to Pru….who were unable to extract capital from JXN and may raise in HK as an alternative.

What I have seen is the analyst presentation (see earlier post for link) this shows a strong regulatory capital position and an indicative stockholder payments value….always have to careful as stockholder payments may not be all in dividends…..somethings get lost in translation.

However if we take the lower distribution of 325m we can impute a valuation based on yield
5% is $6.5bn
7% is $4.6bn
9% is $3.6bn
It seems to me that JXN a will trade around the 7%yield which is considerably more than the written down book value in Pru.
1 JXN likely to start off with a decent gain (priced to go)
2 Pru likely to book a gain when it sells its 20% retained stake.
My holdings are in ISA and SIPP accounts so I have decided to take the JXN holding. If the platform offers a bulk sale I may sell the smallest items.
If I was holding in a GIA the tax on the JXN dividend would make it better to sell and potentially pay CGT….

I have been with HL through the Old mutual breakup.
They have organised block sales after stock distributions……the JXN shares will be in Crest CDIs which should be readily held and tradeable through most platforms….we are not holders of Jxn common stock listed on NYSE. We hold a CDI listed in London.

JXN looks ready to pay large dividends like MNG.

Momentum seems to be with Pru….
Looks like JXN expectations are rock bottom and priced to go….Pru Asia and Africa continues to grow nicely….
Capital raise could prove to be a good time to buy. ….new HK investors will expect a bump.

Hand sanitising gel was opportunistic and by now must be very low margin….
The management of the Chinese distributor seems naive, selling European consumer goods in the Chinese market will always be tough unless they are manufactured in China with the cost advantages but potential risks to intellectual property.
They will be lucky to get paid and the 15m euros pa deal is not worth the electronic paper it is written on.

However the new businesses sound positive….
