We know Governments (UK anyway) like to leak big budget and policy news before an actual announcement to test the water and soften the ground, so this news is very positive. Interested to see how this plays out, fingers crossed

They did say repair work relating to the storm damage is now completed, the work going on in to June is routine maintenance to save any further downtime needed later in the year

There may be a sharp shock upwards to the Oil price which will effect Oil company SPs in the short term, the main long term driver for the UK o&g is a toning down of the sky high ‘windfall’ tax the Government has crippled the industry with.

If this war is sustained over the next month and Iran start to target oil transport off their shore, we’ll probably be approaching $110 oil, who knows where the conflict heads after that. But I see little hope of this government coming to the table over the tax isssue if Oil rises sharply

Seems to be some small sentiment change atm, if this Government loosen the stranglehold ref the ludicrous tax situation that will make things very interesting

Worth noting Kistos recent rise is more in preparation of the Jotun FPSO firing up at Balder, planned for this month

If I can ever get back to my average I’ll be out of the UK oil & gas for GOOD. They will flog this industry to death in the end, until these kamikaze decisions will have to be reversed. Conservatives also to blame, they started this mess.

Deaf ears though I fear, Ed Miliband has been handed control of the uk energy market, frightening as I wouldn’t trust him to run a corner shop. Fair point Fairview, just the Professor isn’t shy talking this up any smell of a JV he would have alluded to it in some form even if he had to be vague. I took a large loss today, no directors buying and no mention of JV discussions is a red flag to me. Professor made a token buy which he’ll recoup in wages anyway.

Not bitter previous JV was decent but it’s unfortunately unfolded the wrong way. GL to those that remain but I’m on to the next one.
