Firstly we are not on the nag site here and lets behave with respect for each other and due courtesy here.I do not remember calling you that bit if so I apologize. I always liked your more reasoned posts and I have no intention of engaging in rough and tumble here or on saga.
Secondly, I will try to explain my reasoning.
On a Balance Sheet where as in this case acquisations were used to build up the Company from a fledgling at quite a furious rate the intangibles can take up larger than normal %age of the Fixed Assets. By way of example if you go to buy a relative minnow from a cold start position to induce the owners to sell you may well have to pay above what is seen as the general market value. They are in the position of strength and value must be accorded to the customer base they have built up also.This above general market base price due to their strength and customer base would and should be classified as Goodwill and placed in the Balance sheet under Intangibles.The procurement of many businesses in this fashion mean the assets stated as Intangibles can rise quite quickly.There are two ways of dealing with this "etherial" matter either by writing it off annually over several years or biting the bullet and taking an one of hit.The general reasoning as when to do it is as the taxation position indicates,though this is not always the case.
IMHO to do it now and "tidy up" the Balance sheet by $17milion was highly prudent and gives a sharper picture and a more tangible position in the annual acounts, therefore I agree with what the board has done.
This whilst long winded is the best i can do by way of explanation.

Fastjet of course I miss Mr Meerkat like you, he had a calming influence on the Board and his posts were a genuine reflection of investing for wealth and to support others less fortunate than us. The accounts will give a good indication of how we really stand, but the sharp rise of this business, correcting of goodwill and the resetting of targets to the best use of money was always going to plateau no matter how necessary.
A strong foundation is always important and any short term correction imo is better done in the early years.
As always time will tell.

Regrettably, Lti took it as a chance to distort the truth about my reasoning and I still feel annoyed about that.I will return like you in due course.
However back to the position here, this could well turn out to be something special and I just decry I am unable to do the calculations required to make an attempt at valuing what this Company may be worth with a fair wind. On another related matter if SC were a Uk outfit the financing could well be ameliorated due to depreciation and other tax relief.How that plays out in Singapore or for the holding company in China I do not know but if they are as expansionist as said possibly very well indeed. Every little helps when financiers get round a table.

Me, I have been well aware for a long time all we have to do is be patient. Looks like you could well be on the Money GFD in relation to processing by end of the year. A partner is in place ready to take supply and the mine is now almost twice the size of the Isle of White. Spodumene 6% or above and at least 230,000 tonnes.
High quality and quantity which many recognized was always sure to pay off.
However, it always pays to be magnanimous and I feel sorry for those that had to sell recently. They may well get an opportunity to buy back in at a higher price possibly.

Dazaliam, I totally disagree with your opinion of today`s Rns.So we are in opposite corners.I take it you read the Rns which states the end game is processing Lithium and highlights the steps.Why does it matter if that occurs this year or next, is it because Gfd has been expressing this year? His opinion may just be like yours, by that i mean of little significance going forward.
You seem unhappy with "excellent rns" you state it to be poor. This doesn`t matter as everybody has their own opinion and that is all that counts. Gfd, Dazaliam and Jamesroo or any other poster are superfluous.The people running the Company and we are told their major backers have a head of steam up and to them we are diddly squat.
You can win an argument with any person here and enjoy a short ego boost but if the processing plant comes on line and makes good all the winning shareholders will care less.The opposite applies to Gfd.

236 Thousand tonnes of above battery grade Lithium indicated over 55% of 450 square kilometres and the newly required 200 square kilometres already being the subject of "sniffers".
We are clearly in the fast lane as is the ESIA which is the next big step.
I am no human calculator but anyone that can translate 236 kt at > 1.06% to shekels,as they say, will come up with a shed of money.

Yesterday showed the herd mentality and I wonder did they even read the RNS or just hit the panic button.The considered opinion reflected the need to be calm and resulted on many buying to average into a good stock going forward.
That and the amount of assumed new buying could leave the Company with a better type of shareholding base.As was stated yesterday by many, prudent action in clearing the poor performers and a, "balance sheet" far more credible was somehow taken as a dire profit warning.
Have to say I hope nobody lost to much but only time will tell the wisdom of the divided way people reacted.
This share was imo yesterday and today a great purchase.

Since many here will have substantially increased their holding yesterday a price target of 115p, or 230%, is a highly acceptable target.The annual results as many have stated will be very interesting and I believe beneficial to the SP.
