A bit of speculative fun: I recently sold out of RR with a profit just under the CGT allowance. I realise that to use up that allowance this tax year and not use up any of next years allowance I need to stay out of the shares for a month. Assuming no deal is reached at the 11th hour, I am currently thinking that this might be the best time, so rebuy mid january when hopefully most of the damage to the share price has been done. Do people think that is realistic, Or do we think the rebound might happen before then? Obviously I’d rather have to pay 20% tax on any gains rather than no gains!

Didn’t you write the exact sane thing at 18.53 yesterday? I guess these big buys are not necessarily a great indicator

Well i did write that i sold it on here yesterday when it was still 1.29.I will admit I spent this morning worrying that it might rocket on the trading update, but as I say I got lucky, I certainly dont claim to really know what I’m doing. I was just wondering why people on here feel RR inderperformed a number of shares which one might argue are even more exposed to a hard brexit

Wow, seems like I got a lucky break selling yesterday morning. Wondering whether to buy back in next week, but a little concerned with how far it dropped today compared to a lot of other shares similarly exposed to Brexit. Do people think that is because of a fundamental weakness in the business displayed in this mornings report or maybe the fact so many people have been sitting on incredibly cheap shares and wanted to secure profit? Or maybe some other reason? I think I may leave it till at least Wednesday as I don’t see any reason for it to rocket back up, but questioning if it is a sensible investment at all for a 6 month ish time period

Sold this morning, been in since 88p. Do I think the share price will stay up? Yes, just about I think so, but do I want to bet profit I’ve made on it (Thanks to this, my first ever foray into the stock market, I now finally have enough for a deposit on a house) and spend the weekend worrying? No. If Brexit deal comes good I’ll probably go back in on Monday morning and accept I could have made more. Not looking to buy a house till around summer so could be a bit more profit in there by then, but I think I know where my risk limit is and I’ve hit it.

Anyway I’ve been enjoying all(most) of the posts on here, GLA
