RE: Slow start30 Dec 2020 09:31
I have to say I am also slightly surprised and disappointed that with a brexit deal and the oxford vaccine that we are still so low. I will say though that I have often found rr to be a slow reactor to news, its how I got in in the first place, buying after the first vaccine was announced and still getting in under 100. I do think the share is incredibly cheap right now for where it will be in 6 months time. The fact that the government have announced that they will be giving the second dose 12 weeks later suggests to me that they think the rollout of the first jab to the most vulnerable will take around that timescale, which is really not long. Whilst we need other countries to approve the vaccine for flights to resume, the UK system is rigourous so I don’t expect it to fail in other jurisdictions. The question is whether rolls royce has the reserves to burn cash through to say June in a worst case scenario, which I believe it does. Therefore I will hold, even though it is painful to see it doing so poorly currently, I just need to stop checking the shareprice so often!
Rr101, I worry that the latest lost is leading you down a dangerous path. If you really want risky, go to r/wallstreetbets and yolo on GME calls. If you want decent returns over a slower period I would say there are a number of FTSE shares that are cheap at the moment, especially over the 6 month to 1 year time period.
