Lol we all want these shares to do well, and we all realise it will take a while for oil demand to drop, but climate change being fake is pretty next level bat**** crazy! Whether the wind purchase is a good move I have no way of analysing myself, but I for one would rather my children grow up in a world of renewable energy than one 3ft underwater! Anyway, back to share prices..

Not yet known, sample size of 2000 with average age of 31 is inconclusive. I’m as pro vaccine and optimistic as you can get, but in my view this is concerning, especially in the context of just how hard the government have clamped down on the SA variant.. astrazeneca already have a new vaccine in the pipeline, so all will eventually be fine, but in the context of recovery share prices I think it could cause some significance turbulence

Brent on the cusp of 59. Let’s hope we can touch 60 and the psychological barrier might cause some momentum to shift, along with big numbers like the presumably 10million vaccinated today in UK. Just need to get through shell results intact first, hopefully not another day of negative oil headlines!

I’m getting seriously tempted, though to be honest they said the same at 104. Just wondering why people think this is towards the bottom of the decline (genuine question not deramping etc)

The thing is i dont disagree, but equally I don’t really understand how financial markets and institutions work well enough to be confident that value will win out, or at least over what timescale. Considering selling some around 2.25 when it usually peaks, just to staunch the losses, I was obviously prepared for things to go up and down, but 310 to 250 has been painful, I’m not sure I could cope with 200 as exposed as I am... hmm decisions

Let’s hope so, though I can’t help but feel certain actors will use the excuse of a (already known about) shell loss on Thursday to drive the whole sector down a bit more. Hopefully on the up after that, unless they really manage to get a foot on the SP’s neck..

Not sure what’s quite so hilarious but hey, the key thing is just not to tell my wife! Overall it’s fine though as I have made about 5 months’ salary in the last couple of months on the stock market (what else is there to do when working from home?) and been able to pay off my student loan, so can’t really complain! I’ll tell my wife when this hits 300 again..

Dropped about 4.5% on much worse results, so I think we should be nearing the short term bottom here. I have to admit my finger has hovered over sell, as it is hard to see nearly a month’s salary go up in smoke, but actually ended up buying more at 2.56, I can’t really see any way in which this time next year the price isn’t significantly higher. Better interest on the dividend than any bak account too!

Funny position to be in, I have no idea where to put money right now. I feel the stock market is in a very dangerous state, I would like to think that as the recovery continues stocks like BP should gradually return to previous value, but I feel with all the reddit stuff etc we could be in for a big correction. So you might think stick money in commodities, but it seems like these are undergoing wild speculation (to be fair i am very much part of the problem, bought some silver on friday, hoping to sell at a bit of a profit once US wakes up). Hold cash and risk big inflationary pressure with continued cash injections? Everything just seems a bit wild right now!

My £500 bet in GME pretty much exactly cancelled the loss on my £30k holding in BP over the last few weeks with a little to spare. Such is life sometimes!

Having followed wallstreetbets for the last few months, the message has been very clear on the GME thing that people should be buying actual shares and not with leverage. It has been stressed so much that I would guess that most who have been paying attention are in in stocks, I certainly was (and am with my 1 remaining share just for fun in case the gamma squeeze actually happens)
