It'll give him a break from the shares!! Tend to cover up when working in the fields,long sleeve shirts and my old cap...hay fever a bit of a nuisance the last couple of weeks but smoking helps!

Not really fretting over BT type shares, if you sit on that type they normally bounce back like Royal Mail with a three in front now with a six in front which is quite irritating as I flogged mine with a four in front arrrrghhhhh

A week late lol....was probably in a field with no internet!! Pretty skint too, unsold house on market delaying share buying massively although some liquidity returned to the p/f this week courtesy of the south Atlantic!!! Dry weather a big plus!

Evening all,hope everyone doing okay.havent done much on shares of late although managed a few dabbles the last couple of days.

I wish! Agents with longevity and reputations to uphold in their local marketplace will go the extra mile for half that percentage if they must and it's not just about this sale but the ones that snowball over the years ahead on referrals and recommendations. There is a place for all manner of newcomers and fair play to anyone who saves a bob or two but let's face it,any agent who professes to be an expert when they're not local to the area they operate in is no expert. Local knowledge and contacts also help immeasurably with the sales progression,particularly when some muppet has introduced an out of town factory conveyancer to slow things down. Those of us in the game cringe when there's a private seller in the chain and from what I've seen of all the online brigade, they may as well all be private sellers!

Haven�t looked in on this one for a while and interesting reading the posts and views. Personally I think the whole industry is due a shake up as there�s too much reliance on order taking and technology when what really needs to happen is for agents to pick up the phone and get people through the front doors,activity creates sales and this business model and the copycats merely erodes fee structures. The benefit to a seller in an instruction drought is a cheaper office window to the portals but as stock levels grow,I don�t see the growth here as at some point the real agents(pardon the pun) should return and charging higher fees to incentive getting the job done rather than joining the race to the bottom. My view is this format has a place but nothing like some folks see it and as the market tightens up,vendors will be more drawn to sold boards in their locality than other factor.

Out of the loop as building them rather than selling them these days but my contacts locally confirm the bricks thing is a total waste of space and I agree there's no sense to the differing values as at least one masquerades as a proper agent and has a viable business. A poor market without the stock shortage will see the true players prosper once more and might even go back in myself at that point! The hybrid idea sounds like someone with no understanding of the business has been sold a pup by some management consultancy that also has no understanding of residential estate agency IMO! As to the SP here,sitting on a chunky loss but also appreciate there's often a disconnect with reality with share prices and might see a revival when mr market perceives things are on the up if/when.

Comment,what were they thinking?! Looks like yet another knee jerk reaction to "online" which as we all know doesn't put deals together. Can't see the top end gang sticking around, I certainly wouldn't want that kind of association and was lower to middle.

Can certainly identify with that chap's views!

Investment in common sense,training the basics of selling houses,chain building,incentivising sales people on commissions and bonus structures would be a more sensible idea rather than trying to compete with the latest fad on price alone. Online agency rarely works as this isn't a retail business and it's one step away from private sales which statistically fall through more than any others. I cut my teeth with one of the members here more years ago than I care to admit and they were pioneers in 7 days, commission only,accompanied viewings,sales progression, young managers rewarded for success in money and a 316 and despite being hated were very successful.....what happened lol. Good point Lex, the negs will be most irritated by the crossover.

Not much changed here I see! Director buy showing here but resigned my holding to the recovery drawer and not adding currently!

Well let's hope the rabbit comes out of the hat at some point then mate! At least lsl,winkworths,belvoir etc still pay a divvy from my 'agency portfolio',should have kept the savills I bought years ago for peanuts too!

Certainly devoid of good news. Sceptical of this online offering as we know when the market hardens, the wheeler dealers will clean up doing what proper agents do best but not sure the appetite exists here to encourage sales as they seem to be going down some misguided retail route? Time will tell, holding here as don't want to realise the loss and at some point hopefully things will pick up. Having 'cut my teeth' with one of their names more years ago than I care to remember I do find it bizarre how even a corporate could get it so wrong when the ones I started with were absolute sales animals and we lived and thrived on it back in the day!!!!!

Is there any good news?! Must admit after the divvy I've lost interest somewhat,at least the peers went for a reduction!

Plenty of that as expected however my attention was drawn to the lack of divvy and the placing!
