This all evolved from the old bby board fiasco and from memory sage found this one all those years ago....I could be wrong on that but there was a big brouhaha about it at the time as we used bby as a general board rather than a general one for ages till someone kicked off about and surprise after messing up our long-standing arrangement cleared off themselves!

Evening all,had a look at the new site,probably good but it means I’ll have to get used to it and not sure all my watchlists will transfer over if they’re changing it all?
Don’t really embrace these kind of changes and still annoyed that you can’t speak to people like Bt over simple things and even the local council is a battleground of options to get through to someone.....when I did the line went silent briefly when I asked her who to make the cheque payable to....she had to go and find out from a supervisor...progress I don’t think so!

Well it hasn’t happened yet and just spotted the divvi showing on my account as a useful reminder of why I hold these! Interesting to note the ‘gap’ opened up between these and the bats again whereas a month or so ago they almost reached parity.

Plenty of factors I guess mate. My main is a mix of trusts,FTSE all flavours and yielding aims so overall it’s more income-focused than specifically FTSE but fact is the unpredictable market seems to want to go up or down in waves of unpredictability and the rest of us try to grab a piece of it as it fluctuates around.

Fair point......mind you getting the right stocks at the right time seems to be the biggest hurdle, in some ways I’d like the dilemma of paying some CGT!

I have but will liquidate it at the earliest opportunity as the charges outweigh the benefits in my case cos that’s where all my aims and specs are..... and tbh I haven’t done too well in that area! Tax benefits I guess but isa better..... or better still shove a cash box under the floorboards lol

I think it’s all risky bud.... look at how Royal Mail, William hill etc have dropped and those centamin Egypt things which I’m unfortunate enough to hold with a whopping loss and to make matters worse they’ve cut the divvy....not fair!!

Some people can’t believe I’ve got a record player and tapes and can still watch videos! If it wasn’t for shares I don’t think I’d have bothered getting the internet connected at home! Lego will be fine with the divs rolling in!!!

Morning all. Interesting piece Wassatt, I also think there’s an element of relief rally after the December rout but whilst the 3 month view is up the year charts are well off the top,take Aviva for example?

I guess the only concern I’ve got is a big single ex-div can play havoc with the SP short term but if it pops up some it won’t matter that much. Normally I favour the quarterly ones like Bp,gsk,shell and the trusts and a few others like diversified gas which now pays quarterly and recently added to SMIF which is monthly so the ex drop is hardly noticed!
Good time to stock up on wood too, was on mostly pallets till my mates oak tree came down a few weeks ago,mixing a bit of unseasoned in with the burn works okay if it’s hot enough...might need to sweep the kinker out though!
