First bought these for that penny(almost!) div a few years ago,as we keep seeing there’s plenty of positives building for SP recovery here and taking a long view it’s not beyond the realms of possibilities that they turn it around and go back to rewarding us with future dividends and a somewhat stronger SP!
I might be a bit rose-tinted but the H word (hydrogen) seems to be mentioned a lot which suggests growth as well as recovery, who knows! GLA
Hi ade, the short answer is yes. I think they’re cheap under 3 quid with that yield and the comparison was meant to illustrate that even managed/diversified trusts hit the buffers for whatever reason at times and if sentiment plays a part in the SP I guess you can only really factor in the discount/premium to nav along with proximity to the next exd build up?
Good one sector!! Night all catch up soon.
They do set themselves up for it!!
Hi Nom, I have done in the past as there’s mountains of material at the stables next door but this winter we’re experimenting with ‘layers’ of mixed leaf mulch, cut grass, chicken muck(aka rocket fuel!) and thin layers of soil in some raised beds we made from some old scaff planks on a ‘no dig’ method.
I did the heavy lifting but I’ve left the planting choices to the g/f who’s already drawn plans!
Santa rally cutting it fine this year….way things are going it’ll be a Santa slump!
Reads well and a path to recovery seems to be drawn. GLA
The hardest part is digging it in,I recommend the bulldog fork and bulldog spade duo or just leave a heavy mulch and let the worms do the hard graft. I’m loathe to rotavate these days as it’s total carnage for the worms…having said that letting the hens finish off is definately not worm-friendly!
Heavy clay soil hard work but quite fertile,if you did in enough organic matter like spent straw, hay and even mix a bit of gravel or sharp sand it helps….alternatively just do some raised beds with the good stuff…imo/dyor lol
It’s like snakes and ladders mate….that’s why I like my divs because the others you get lucky now and then but overall it’s painful on the wallet!
Now my big suggestion is that all towns/cities turn over 10% of parks to allotment societies and anyone who wants to have a go is given a free bulldog spade and decent pair or wellies…..when they talk about yields per acre and needing nasty chemicals….compare the amount of food produced on allotments…..rant over, better go and feed the birds. Good luck with moving the rat onto pastures new lol
Hi ade2a, I remember a few years ago when Murray international had that massive dip and recovered over time and though unrelated I kind of believe we’re on a similar dip here as all share prices do tend to drift around whereas the diversified trusts generally are less volatile in their movements due to the diversified nature therein and I’m happy to sit on and add nearly 8% return quarterly, whereas the Murray ones I got shot of as soon as they went back over a tenner because the yield wasn’t there. It’s all subjective when it comes to investing as it’s our own dosh on the line!
Morning all. Looks like another bunker day! Was going to post last night but looked a bit hostile on here lol.
This vaccination thing seems to be divisive for some reason, but at least it stops people banging on about brexit etc all the time! GM foods and aggro chemicals however should be talked about imo!!
Thanks for the link ade, quite reassuring and a whiff of contrarian is how I read it. Bought back in a small way JCGI this week but in the trust sector there’s very few that are close to this return on capital deployed so happy to sit tight, collect the divies and interesting how they’ve moved the money around the area geographically too.
Thanks also Zac and Gerry for your inputs here.
High yield often a value trap but I’d rather feel ‘trapped’in something paying 7-8% than an individual company all or nothing…..if it yields that it’s undervalued or unsustainable which doesn’t seem to be the case here.
Good news at last!
I wonder how much this will create in revenue terms?
Thanks for the explanations ade.
After a brief perusal of my p/f just now the only comment I can make is thank goodness it didn’t drop as much as heaps of others did and we were well into the 3’s first thing which gives me some hope!
The yield will keep me invested because therein lies the only true profit in owning shares in anything imo!
Hi Sain, you called the price right! Surprised it didn’t go lower on a bad day overall, sitting on my hands here unless I see an investment case(as in too cheap to ignore or as you say something structured. A potential recovery stock at best. Keep up the good work!!
Cheers Mick, looks interesting but as someone who’s never been into gaming probably one to watch and watch out for dilution! Years ago i had some games workshop and was irritated to see how much they went up after I sold…… shares!
After that announcement earlier looks like they’re really going for it with the jabs, when I had the booster they made you sit inside to wait the 15 minutes whereas before it was recommended. Anyway night all and have a good week.
Hi Sain, somehow I’m thinking this isn’t going to be another Telford! Unless they’re stupidly cheap I don’t think I’ll add anymore and I’m amazed the fail to completes/delayed completions with their factory conveyancers referrers didn’t get more press recently!
I only knew of 2 that flopped after exchange in my 33 years at the coalface and they were in the fun and games of ‘88 when anything could happen and usually did!
Tenant deposits/clients accounts etc not ones to get this wrong, shocking really in a lark where reputation is everything!
I’ve got a token holding because I believe there might be some value in the brand even though as a company, concept etc I’ve only ever viewed them as market disrupters, the market is a strange beast in situations like this and it’ll be interesting to see how they price it first thing.
Evening all, hope everyone doing okay. I see they’ve brought forward the booster jabs, had mine last week and knew all about it for a day! Looks like more bad news at Purplebricks, don’t think I’ll be making a profit on my token holding there anytime soon!
What’s the crack with bidstack?
