The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Thanks Horult, very kind of you, I will check that out.
I guess that means HMRC do not provide the software for you when completing self assessment. You would think they would make it simple so you just add your dates and info etc.
Has anyone ever completed an online 'Self Assessment' tax form and needed to calculate capital gains using the 'Bed & Breakfast' rule,(ie. when you buy, sell and buy shares again in the same company and on the same day).
If so are the calculations done for you, or are you required to do them your-self?
Question.... If you do self assessment tax on-line in the UK, and you sell. buy and sell shares again in the same company on the same day, does it help you to do the calculations for the 'Bed & Breakfast' rule? Or do you have to do it your-self.?
I think when I first bought in, the market cap was approx £35 mil. That was before they got into production and when the debt was much higher. The share price has been hammered over that time, but rightly so. However it now appears a lot is taking place, and should the drill rigs arrive this week and next we could be on our way to better things. We also seem to have a new revenue stream, which is a bonus.
AP has been keeping his head down for a while that's because things have not gone well. Obviously he feels more confident to come out and face the shareholders, but he needs to deliver this time.
I think the combination of a very low market cap driven down over such a long time, and the previous jorc valuation of approx $104 mil at a lower copper price compared to today, means that any chance of the mine making a profit makes it very difficult to resist buying into.
Dicko... If you read the mid April twitter page it says the Exploration drill rig arrived on site, but the production Mantis drill rigs were only being tested a head of arrival, which are the important ones for profitability.
Thanks Mark, but unfortunately based on past information, that is not clear enough for me. Usually when equipment arrives AP does like to shout it from the roof tops, and I just have my doubts because he hasn't done this.
Can someone clarify the following. Have the two drill rigs used for production arrived on site or not. They mention how significant they are, but it never seems clear as to whether or not they are there? As far as I can remember a drill rig was supposed to be there in April 2021.
Thanks EV_Bull, very much appreciated and good of you to reply. Those answers help a lot, and I will read through the other links later today.
It sounds as though interesting news flow could increase over the coming weeks and months.
Happy New Year everyone!, and looking forward to the 20% closure.
As a rather new investor here, I have a couple of questions, if someone knows the answers to. How long do you think the pre-feasibility study will take to complete on Amapa?, and what is the importance of Ganfeng buying BCN?
With regards to our relationship with BCN, there appears to be very little mention of them throughout the previous RNS announcements, and then when it is mentioned there doesn't appear to be much information. All I can gather is we own 30% of the mineral concession which forms part of their 20 year mine plan. I'm somewhat confused. Will we be working with Ganfeng and is this to happen immediately or many years into the 20 year mine plan? Also, are there any other miners involved in this JV?
Any information, much appreciated.
This could work out better than expected. I am more confident now than I was a few months ago. I have a reasonable amount invested, but have kept a reasonable amount, on the side-lines. If some big and positive news arrives ie Zim sign-off, or the next jorc, or bank finance approval for other projects I will add more. That way if it goes down I'm OK and if it goes up I'm happy, as long as the BP mine continues to progress correctly.
