Seems like the ODX so explosion was partly attributed to the CEOs interview on SKY News being ‘misinterpreted’ and he has since ‘clarified’ the position! And to think that RM was being criticised this morning by some on here for not being positive enough.....maybe it’s more about being professional!
Interesting here to see impact of visitors coming back to coastal resorts - the impact on local hospital resources and importantly the impact of asymptomatic hospital staff....

Uallmakeitup - I live close to Weston General Hospital which had to close on Monday - it had a spike in admissions With COVID - had started to infect other patients - and 40% of the staff were testing positive. All cases including A&E not diverted to either Bristol or Taunton. Likely cause - gradual influx of visitors last BH weekend (before lockdown ease) and VE Day celebrations.
History shows that most pandemics have subsequent waves - we are now seeing evidence of renewed cases in Germany, Iran and S Korea all of which had early ease of lockdown.
Having read the RNSs and CEO interview my take is that it may only be hospital data results that become available in July - CEO when asked about Home said ‘later in the summer’.....is that what others understand to be the case?
Ghia - to me there was an interesting observation from the Leicester consultant on the interview with Radio Leicester when he said that use of some of the existing trial treatments would show ‘small but welcome benefit’ to hospital cases. And he had actually referenced the SNG treatment without using the company name within the interview.
And that’s where I’m hoping this is all leading. Even a small benefit to hospitalised cases will be a positive - and IF there is further data from the home trial (where we suspect that SNG can deliver optimal benefit) that proves positive then that is a game changer for any further wave or outbreak ahead of any vaccine. Effective home treatment brings a whole new dynamic as a defence and that’s obviously the target for SNG and will also underpin its headline additional therapy for COPD and asthma.
Yes, it’s been a longer play for the SNG team but they’re doing it professionally and diligently rather than sellers of snake oil!!!
My apologies if this has already been posted - I found on another board. It’s from Radio Leicester on 20/5 where there is an interview at 1.07 with the lead consultant talking about the different trials - and talks about SNG although doesn’t use name specifically - and then a short interview with a recovered patient at 1.51 who was either on SNG or placebo - took it for 3 weeks in hospital and then continued at home. Consultant believes that some of the trial treatments will deliver ‘small but welcome’ benefits

Nolupus - thanks for maintaining a sense of proportion and to an extent playing ‘devil’s advocate’ in the last few weeks. You have rightly highlighted other factors to take into consideration when looking at SNG and its prospects. Much of my ‘day work’ is working between project teams and usually will always ensure that I have at least one person who can be effective in that role - group think can be very dangerous! I can see underneath it all you have absorbed all the information and that you have taken a very balanced view before investing....that I find reassuring. I know you’ve encountered some negative feedback but I can see there are others, like me, that value your input.
This seems to be a case of ‘a day being a very long time in biotech’ - I actually take reassurance from the silence coming from SNG HQ - their focus is very much on arriving at an orderly outcome and presenting as robust case as possible to the regulators. This has been 10 years plus in the making....they’re not going to screw it up now for some short-term inflation of the SP. GLA and enjoy the peace of a bank holiday weekend - stay safe and stay alert!!

Just looking at this mornings RNS for AVCT which looks promising for a saliva test that will provide a result in minutes and before symptoms actually appear - this, in conjunction with SNG would be a strong mitigation strategy against the disease spreading and provide an early Homebased therapy to prevent the virus worsening and minimise the need for hospital admissions
Based on the joint survey undertaken by ONS and Dept of Health it would suggest ongoing infection rate is higher than rate that Govt is working with

I think it should be relatively easy to target GP practices that have large residential care homes on their lists - given the rapid infection rates it shouldn’t take long to on-board new patients from this patient pool
Have just spent 30 mins having a look at ACCORD and why I think SNG is outside - the initiative is to bring new drugs onto a fast track Phase 2 trial - on the AZ site it says that they hope to begin dosing first patients in 10 days time. Of course SNG is ahead of the game here, a number of weeks in, our results will be analysed whilst the ACCORD candidates will still be mid-trial. We are already on a high priority fast-track and well known to those that need to know - we just need to deliver the right results. Don’t think there’s anything to worry about here - we are ahead of the game!
