Morning Longtimeinvester, I have to admit that I've learned something as I had assumed like others that we were listed on nyse with shares held in usa. Are we saying that the gross number of shares in bp is 19bn or thereabouts ?? Or are there additional shares held in Frankfurt traded on dax.
If 19bn is to gross number then the buybacks should be starting to show positive movements in the sp

Jamtart, you are entitled to your point of view, however our beloved Queen was loved and greatly appreciated by millions of people not just in this country but all over the world. Whether you happen to be royalist or anti monarchy isn't important but at least you might acknowledge the wonderful things she did for this country for almost 70 years of her reign.

Harmonica, China have got themselves into an invidious position over Russia. Yes, they have sympathetic ties with Moscow, but USA is their biggest export market by far followed by EU, and they can't afford to upset that massive volume of trade. They have to walk a very fine line to avoid upsetting the applicant.

Chandley, Yes me may well be entitled to the dividends from Rosneft, but please correct me if I'm mistaken, didn't the Russian state confiscate our dividend cash ? As for the stake well we abandoned it completely and it no longer appears in the accounting of BP. At one point I understood we were trying to find a buyer but nothing came of that so its anyone's guess how it will finally play out, but it would be a huge bonus if we were to realise its true value. What a 'brucie' that would turn out to be. Time will tell

Not my job You are entirely correct, and that's precisely why the government needs BP and Shell to invest more in North Sea as a matter of urgency. This is why you will not see another windfall tax on these Companies.
