Happydays91., we have made substantive steps recently, and holding at or around £4.80., truthfully, I did expect to be nearer £4.90 is today but that hasn't materialised so far. I am of the opinion that £5 is very realistic by Christmas and £5.50 by the 4th quarter results. Just my opinion though so do your own research.

Yes I think you are probably right, with a lot oh holders divesting. I did wonder when the sp dropped so far after closing yesterday wiping out all of the days considerable gains. There can be very little doubt that bp has a very bright future and I'm staying the course. Have a good day

Markets not loving it for some reason, very subdued opening. Really expected more of an uplift

All this afternoon's gains ebbed away after closing so a bit of an uphill struggle tomorrow to reach £5

I bet they're writing the headlines already at the BBC clamouring for windfall tax to be imposed on BP after reporting massive profits in third quarter.

LTI/Meoryou., I couldn't agree more in principle with the point you made about all business paying same rate of corporation tax., however, that might not be politically expedient for Starmer and his mob who are he'll bent on extracting the maximum windfall tax from fossil fuel origins as they can. Its a simple and easy firm of robbery but that won't deter them in the least.

Your positive vibes are coming through loud and clear lol... I don't really know what percentage of profits are generated within UK tbh ?? I suppose we need to take the view that if we need to contribute a little extra then we should, as long as the bankers are also brought into the equation. The world cannot function without oil and gas so bp and its peers are providing an essential public service and we should be respected accordingly.

Spights, I don't think the BP pr machine does a very good job in getting out side of things to the fore. As far as I'm aware bp have never really spoken out about the write off of Rosneft following interference from the departed Kwarteng. We should be more forceful on these issues because we will never get that side of the facts aired by the prejudicial bbc which ad a broadcaster is a disgrace.
