Agree nuri. In my view is that they couldn't realise the required value so walked away from the deal. Not sure when the initial decision was thought was mulled over, maybe many months ago on MW watch? Could just be the current board has other ideas now. Right decision and still good long term in my opinion.

Derek I'm fully aware of the technicalities. If you think IOT in the real sense is anytime soon you'll be disappointed. Not sure where you are in Norfolk but when visit family who live well outside Norwich you can dream multiple devices and watch UHD TV at the same time ona25 mb connection without issue. The point was 20- 60mb for the average household is fine.
The current fibfpre backbone is already in to most places, it's a case of expanding the network throughout. Remember higher speeds will come at a cost to consumers, hence BT always try and push the higher speed packages.

For the record I spent some time homeless when I first left home, there was homelessness under labour government as well. My kids will be fine because they have been given the most important thing in life, respect for themselves and the reality nobody gives them anything for nothing in return . Over the years I have helped many people who wanted to put equal effort in themselves.
You still haven't answered my question about the Labour party and the economy so happy to leave the discussion there.

Yes I can see it. I spent many years struggling with a family , mortgage etc. Worked sometimes 60pkus hours a week and never had a family holiday for more than 25 years. My view right or wrong is you are dealt a hand of cards. You play these as best you can to get the best result.

Ok and here's the thing. I grew up in a council estate , left home at 16 with little than the clothes I stood in. Got myself through college , got a job, progressed and worked a full 44 years without any break for unemployment. Never claimed any benefits and retired at 60 with a pension and investments I saved for. My kids also worked and still do and have successfully built their own businesses albeit small with little help from me apart from them being raised in an environment that demonstrates hard work pays.
Now let me guess the scenario with yourself any many in the UK......expect everything given to you with the least possible effort from yourself. Therein lies the problem with this country, always someone else's fault. Have you worked out if Corbyn and his cronies ever get power where the wealth will come from when the UK is bust. I ask you again tell me a time when any Labour government left power with the UK finances better when they took power.

Splitting hairs. I have exactly that and have 60mb broadband, how fast do you need. The way people are talking you would think 90% if the country have little more than dial up speeds. So back to the question what percen of locations have less than say 10mb ?
