Lets not get carried away by this price rise.
But what would happen if as suggested there where to be a takeover bid?
How would Shell and Cairn react?
I suspect that both Shell and Cairn are suspicious of each other in respect that if gas is discovered, will the other try a takeover.
There may be something in writing saying they can't . I don't know.
But it would take a large company to snatch this little gem away from either of them.
Any thoughts?
If you where on the BOD of a company with such a small trough, would you let another snout in that trough for no good reason.
Rather like the appointment of the financial director, I think they are getting ahead of themselfs .
The survey, conducted by Fugro GB North Marine Limited, was completed on time, on budget and without incident. Data collection commenced on 16 October and was completed on 20 October with demobilisation commencing shortly thereafter. Accordingly, all site survey work is now complete.
The Pensacola exploration well remains scheduled to be spudded in Q2 2022. Shell has also confirmed that a rig is available to drill Pensacola.
Graham Swindells, Chief Executive of Deltic Energy, commented:
"The successful completion of the site survey programme, which is a key part of well planning and the final phase of preparatory offshore activities, represents the achievement of another important milestone in our steady progress towards drilling the Pensacola prospect."
This tells us nothing.
Which begs the question, WHY?
