Our own gas7 Feb 2026 00:36
Until around 10 years ago, Great Britain was mostly self-sufficient in gas and received natural gas from the North and Irish Sea. Now the UK gets its gas from its own North Sea fields (about a third), but relies heavily on imports, primarily from Norway via pipelines. Why are we importing the stuff when we still have our own reserves. It's there waiting to be extracted. Not extracting it is not for the good of the UK or for global warming, in my opinion is for the good of powers that be lining their own pockets. Disagree with me if you want, but that is my opinion.
