I don't know much about CGNR. I read the other day that it's been 17 years waiting for the "gold mine" to start producing gold! Is this right? I mean, come on, how long does a company need to kick start a mine? I am a very patient person, but waiting for KDR to come good for that long would be tedious to say the least. And I know some of you guys have been here a long time already. If CGNR are anything to go by, and things don't kick off here with Rio as soon as people think, then I feel there will be a lot more drilling and till sample testing done here over the next few years. The current Rio aggreement would then possibly be extended? Either way, if future results continue to be as positive as the past, then the value of the acreage of each project is only going to increase. Which has to be a good thing.
No worries irishmouse, patience is my middle name. I could tell you my longest time holding one stock, without selling a single share, but you would need to sit down! And have some of your finest Irish whiskey!
Irishmouse, I have the same problem. Don't really want this to go up just yet, as I have not got my holding to where I want it to be. Knowing my luck, it will be £1.50 next Friday! Lol. Actually, that would do!
Sorry qprswc, didn't realise you and Steve are the same person!
qprswc, when you posted a little while ago about the odds of success being 50,000/1 and over time being odds on. I must admit, I thought that was a bit of a blatant ramp! However, as you know, I have been educating myself on KDR over the last few weeks. And also thinking about RickSummers points, that all the clues are there in the RNS's. I now understand where you are both coming from. Look at the till sample results over the years. Always high amounts of G9, and G10 indicator minerals. What more could we ask for? Not forgetting the green diamond. In the words of Jason Statham from the movie Snatch....."Have we got the minerals?" Of course we have!
Good post by steevehoops on ADVFN at 09:55 He raises some very good points, including "the blue chip company approached us, not the other way round"
Although I am new to KDR, I can already see this is a diamond of a share (pun intended). There must be people here with fairly high averages in comparison to todays price. If a 5 bagger is on the cards. I think the LTH won't just bail, as they know the ultimate prize is considerably more. After more research, I still have yet to find anything bad about KDR. For a bit of balance, the best I can do, is point out that we still have the balance to pay A&G mining next year. (Not much) Plus a 1 or 2% royalty, based on how much we produce, if we decide to start mining Lahtojoki. That's all I can find so far. I hope the LTH that have been here for years do very well from this. I am sure you will.
Only a 5 bag??! Why would any of us want to give our shares away? Lol.
As we hit the top of the leaderboard on Friday, it will be interesting to see if volume is higher than normal on Tuesday. After we had the limelight for a while, new investors could be spending their weekend researching KDR.
David and Goliath indeed. Exactly the names that spring to mind when researching here. Even the giants need an insurance policy for the future, in terms of diamonds. All mines become exhausted eventually. Alrosa have around 18 years left of rough diamond resource. And some of Rio's mines are making the transition to underground. No major would wait until they have almost nothing left, before buying the next big thing. We are in one of the four zones on the planet were the next big discovery is expected to come from. It's been a very long time since anyone has discovered a big resource. All the boxes are slowly being ticked here. I am very pleased I made my own discovery in KDR. Happy to sit back and see how this plays out.
I have been working my way through the RNS's. And although I have to admit, it is hard to grasp all the info within. I have not read anything yet, that causes alarm bells to ring. The future of this company does appear to be very bright. A while ago, I said a takeover may never happen. But after looking at the set up here, I had to ask myself, why would a giant such as Rio Tinto be working with us, if there was nothing worth hanging around for? I also like the fact that we can wave over the garden fence to Alrosa! The biggest diamond mining company in the world. I am not sure how long all this drilling and sampling will ultimately go on for. But so far, I have not seen any bad results. And at the end of it all, surely one of the two giants (or both) would be looking to move in permanently? If and when that happens, it would be hard to believe that once we had a market cap of £2.7m! I like RickSummers riddle from Sunday. And I was thinking, you can get some pretty big crisp packets these days. But there is still no way you will get an elephant inside!!
Yeah mine has been too. And I don't mean the £17 buy shown has a sell!
Thanks qprswc, you too.
Thanks qprswc. Every single chat board of every stock talk about takeovers. But it is extremely rare to be holding the golden tickets when it all kicks off. I have never been that lucky. But the fact that a giant like Rio are working with us, and Alrosa are across the border, is a very good start. But at the end of the day, a takeover may never happen. Time will tell, watch this space.
As I am new to diamond mining, I though it was odd that it was rare to find a diamond in a till sample? The Canadian company that analyse the samples have found less than 10 in 50,000 samples! Forgive my ignorance, but how can it be so rare, if the area the samples are from is targetting diamonds? Unless they are referring to the fact it is green? Thanks for any info on this, and sorry if it's a stupid question. Still got a lot of research to do.
When I invest I put myself in the long term mindset. It enables me to have great patience. I do have a bottle of champagne here. Would be good to have a reason to pop it!
I think we would all take £ 7.50p!! It looks like we are well managed, and have been in Finland for a long time, so good relationships have developed. I will be happy with a good return in 3-5 years. If it comes sooner, then great. I have missed 3 boats in the last 6 months due to having money tied up elsewhere. I don't want to miss this one, which is why I have already jumped in with a teeny amount. I will add when I can.
As well as the great potential, I like the fact there are not many shares in issue, so when things do move, it should be a good rise. Would you say, that taking into account the current position of the company, is £2.7m market cap a fair valuation? It does seem low. But there are dozens of undervalued companies out there. And maybe it won't budge until production income is getting close.
When I first got into oil and gas companies, I found it was like learning a new language. It would seem diamond mining is on a whole new level! I feel I need a university degree, to understand the reports. Phew, this is hard work! Is everybody here an expert? Thanks to qprswc for posting very informative info. I think it's going to be a while before I can chat confidently about diamond mining! Although I said the other day I could not buy in yet, I have managed to drop in a small amount. It's a start. I can't see this going pop just yet, but at some point it will, and I don't want to miss it. Also noticed, as usual, it's a false spread. Pretty much all buys will be shown as sells. At a guess, I would say Sharelock bought a million on Tuesday, which also showed as a sell. Sorry Sharelock, none of my business. All the best.
Thanks irishmouse, I will dig my way through the RNS when I have a chance. It is the Rio factor that got my attention. If it's Irish whiskey, then I am sorry to say I am not an expert. The eight bottles I have here are all Scottish. Hope you can tolerate that! "try to balance risk v reward." A good point, that everyone on every board should remember. Maybe then, some boards would have fewer bitter posters.
