not sure how much Wressle news we will get in EOG's Finals, however Egdon's Finals were released on 03.11.21 so we should have a detailed update on Wressle in 2 to 3 weeks

some observations regarding the loan

firstly, lending at 11% fixed in a strongly rising interest rate environment was overly generous, base +8% would have been much more realistic

secondly, the cash positions given in UJO's recent RNS's strongly suggest that EOG has not drawn on the facility

and finally, whilst securing the loan against Wressle was a smart move, hoping that EOG defaults is a very unpleasant pov

If so, it's reasonable to assume that Nova can comment to some extent - of course we know they almost certainly won't say anything meaningful.

with £99.6m cash as at 30.06 and a counterclaim for £81.5m, if nova win big then the sp would be 255p on cash alone, throw in positive sentiment and 350/400 would not be unreasonable imo

not re-issuing them as they would not be cancelled, just held in treasury, it's not unusual these days for a company to hold shares for re-selling or, as you say for staff schemes. here's a handy guide

oops mcap half cash!

as our glorious leader is at a loss with respect to making the cash work, I'm inclined to think it would be worthwhile spending a few million on a buyback as the mcap is currently twice cash. Let's be honest, if nova loses the dhsc dispute, a few million is neither here nor there. Spend - say £5m - on a carefully executed buyback, HOLD the shares in treasury and when the sp recovers sell them to II's at a substantial profit. (that's the theory anyway) Any thoughts?

keep up swampy, it's not £17m per well, it's about £12.5m at the current Canadian Dollar exchange rate (as clearly stated in the CPR)

drillordrop is mis-reporting the CPR as showing each well will cost $19.1m or £17m, this is WRONG

the chart is in Canadian Dollars not US dollars - CAD$19.1m = about £12.6m

Micky I can only guess. possibly DB is waiting for 2023 cost estimates from Rathlin, plus the Bisc appeal, which if successful means more costs in 2023, plus maybe DB is waiting for Egdon to let him know what their FIRM plans are for 2023, they are very good at promising "this year" but very bad are delivering on their promises, hopefully the Interims will give all of us a good idea of their firm commitments for 2023. So with so many potential costs in 2023, perhaps DB is keeping his powder dry for the moment - as I said, all just guess work.

KA, we should hit the $10m milestone in the next 2 weeks, whilst that wont be huge news it should come with the up to date cash position. 11th Oct we will know the Bisc result. at some point soon DB will announce his plans for Capital Reduction. very early November we should have the Egdon interims with detailed updates on our JVs
