RE: More bizarre trading patterns....31 Jan 2021 15:00
T 72 my understanding of a shell is that it is an ideal vehicle that is clean, perhaps has assets such as cash, licences in our case, and tax losses - in our case £30m, that could be better utilised by a company looking for a listing without having to spend cash on producing a prospectus ahead of floating. I feel that BOIL has a caretaker management, no assets that are earning yet and may not for some time and would benefit from new blood, a bit like has happened at Zephyr. As far as SPVs are concerned my understanding is that these are set up by a group of business people, with connections, who raise a small amount of cash with a view to seeking an acqusitions to bring to the market. Both potential shells and SPVs seem to be popular at the moment and of course make money for those investors who can track them down. It can be fun, profitable or costly but more interesting than buying M&S. GL.
