RE: RE GOODBYE22 Sep 2025 09:23
I keep reviewing the recent losses and then revisiting the September 11th announcement regarding NIU. It stated that "NIU Invest (NIU) contributed both MTV and Tataki Mine to GCR Group, which is headquartered in the United States." I also noted that NIU Invest intends to become an integrated mining operator with assets in North America, Latin America, Africa, and Europe, so doesn't appear to be going anywhere just building up. Its increased stake in CRTM appears to align with this wider expansion strategy. For that reason, I believe the recent share price uplift is more closely linked to NIU/GCR’s broader growth story rather than being solely tied to Molulu as such less likely susceptible to a share dump.
GCR’s advisory board includes a former U.S. Army Brigadier General, which had me wondering about the Trump interest in growing the sector and seem to hvae the ability to buy some of the larger projects and meet senior politicians (“joining President Duma Boko (Botswana), who will officiate the opening of the mine, hosted by American firm GCR Group”). Developments like these are clearly influencing sentiment and, in turn, the share price.
I can’t find any share listing for GCR’s Chilean or Botswana assets, but the trajectory indicates a much larger play than Molulu on its own. While pledges don’t always translate to execution, in this case capital has already been deployed with $200 million reportedly invested to revive and upgrade operations in Botswana, expected to generate more than 400 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect ones. Current job boards show over 40 vacancies posted, which reflects progress, though not yet the full scale announced.
Even if Fryer decides to exit his position, it may not derail the bigger picture. At present, the momentum driving CRTM seems tied to its association with GCR/NIU’s moves rather than isolated project developments. The big difference is Molulu isn't mining or holding reserves or Fryer could have pulled the wool over investor eyes again. Hopefully post rain season theres reporting of actually mining.
