Just on that point, I remember that a lot of people on here had no idea how much a well actually cost to drill and finish, until an investor presentation last year finally clarified it. I think it was Jerry Smart who clarified. Even then, people were debating the subject, and coming up with all kinds of figures. We were told in the end that it's $4m to drill and complete.

TenBag ; you have always said that you are a holder going back many years, yet have never given any idea of how many you held or at what average prior to the last raise.

The difference when you bought in on the last raise was that the company had been a producer for about 8 months. How much did you commit whilst it was still an explorer ? You've always said that you have never sold any, so presumably you had quite a lot of shares at an average of X.

It's great for people who have unlimited funds to simply keep averaging down, yet not everybody's in that position.

The bottom line is that the people in the best position are those who turned up last minute. Which shows that it's best to let a company become a producer before buying and holding - not before.

Lessons I have learnt from holding MATD shares ;

1) With an junior resource explorer you never know for definite what you are getting until whatever is to be extracted is actually being extracted, whether it's oil, gold, nickel or whatever.

2) Companies at the exploration phase are always likely to be short of funds, and frequent raises are pretty much inevitable. It's lower risk to wait for a raise to buy in. It's high risk to buy in on what may turn out to be an RNS spike - especially if the company is still just an explorer, with an indeterminate timescale for it actually starting to produce anything. FOMO on a RNS may simply be based on hot air - as was often the case up to May last year with MATD. Before then the company had no legal access to Heron, so could do nothing except some wildcats.

3) Companies at the exploration phase are likely to have price spikes on RNS releases due to sudden FOMO, which then can dissipate quickly. Plus there's MM manipulation during spikes - for example that 2023 RNS release when in one day after a 7am RNS the price spiked down to 1.8p and then up to 6.5p only to fall back to about 2.5p a few days later. That was pure manipulation.

4) Before going in, always check the chart of the microcap resource stock to see what the characteristics of the price action are. Then decide if it's really wise to just buy and hold before the company is actually generating any revenue.

5) If you think that it's unwise to simply buy and hold but still want to buy shares, then be prepared to monitor the price action and chart closely in order to top slice or sell up at the most opportune time. Usually this will be after an RNS with a sudden surge in volume.

7) Be careful about people with agendas on these kind of boards.

I think it's just unfortunate that the people who probably now in the best position are those who have only in the last year or two cottoned on to the company and its prospects. Those people who bought in between say 4 to 8 years ago have really been put through the mill if they made a decision to simply buy and hold. And after all, it's these people who have helped keep the company going at its worst times. Those who were sensible enough to have sold or top sliced on the numerous price spikes prior to June 2024 will have fared much better. When I first bought some shares in 2019 I would have done well to have checked a daily chart and noticed that the price action had a history of constant spikes followed by falls to the 1.5 to 2.5p level. Some of the spikes hit 5p to 9p.

Its all very well talking about averaging down, but that depends on how much you have already committed and an assumption that everyone has unlimited funds to keep throwing at one company.

It just goes to show that with resource stocks, timing is everything - especially if it's an explorer. IMO there is still quite a lot of anger amongst some LTHs about the 821 bopd quoted initially for H1. I guess this is where industry knowledge pays off to have realised that it was just an unchoked natural flow on what was likely to be an initial pressure spike.

I think that the LTHs have been a bit unlucky to date, as nobody could have factored in covid or the rogue governor holding everything up for 3 years, however the way to have derisked up to say the last raise would have been to have simply dipped in and out and ride the volatility like a surfer.

My guess is Thursday at 7am, as MB is partial to a Thursday RNS for some reason.

This fits in with what MB stated in the presentation. He mentioned that the party who is at the most advanced stage would not be interested in being an explorer in block 7. So clearly they want something ready to go.

No worries Adw. You're one of the few on here that seems to have the renewables side properly on your radar. MATD and Sunsteppe clearly have it on their radars...

And as I keep mentioning, according to MB some of the funds raised in July have gone towards getting the 200MW RTB hybrid project to the ready to sell stage.

I'm sure they wouldn't have done that if they thought that the RTB stage was a long way off. They would have used it for the oil instead.

Adw189 ; I think based on $50,000 to $100,000 per MW it would be $5m to $10m to MATD if it's a 50-50 with Sunsteppe, which I presume it will be.

Rookie also hasn't factored in the sale of the 200 MW RTB project - worth 5m to 10m USD to MATD.

That could happen quite soon. And others may not be far behind that.

TT1981 ; exactly right. In the past MB has buried bad news I'm an RNS led by some good news.

He had every opportunity to do this in the Gazelle RNS, and surely they would have known at that point whether H2 was commercial?

Presumably the first step with Block 7 would be to have 3D seismic data done for at least a portion of it. I remember a figure of around 4m being mentioned somewhere for having the whole of block XX done. Of course it has never been done so far - just the northern portion which PC had done when they bought block 19 and then shared the data.

Well it means that Gobi could potentially be rolled out quickly under a farmout agreement.

People will wake up to the renewables side once the sale of the 200 MW project is announced. And it may be very soon.

Also, the market will wake up to this side of the business at long last. Zeus mentioned that nothing has been factored in to the share price as yet.

I think I'm the only person who has mentioned that part of the funds from the raise went towards the 200 MW project so as to get it ready to sell. It's worth 5m to 10m USD to MATD.

It's quite feasible that the renewables side will produce more income next year for MATD than the oil side of the business. There are 3 more projects in the pipeline after the 200 MW project to come.

Somebody needs to write to the company and ask ;

1) Is Gobi covered by the existing 3D data which PC supplied ?

2) Does Gobi come within the scope of a potential farmout agreement, or is it separate ?
