Actually, now people mention it, that last post by GIgi is very reminiscent of WOS. A long winded post listing in great detail all the positives. And that last paragraph, which sounds just like WOS writing, but without the embellishments of splatterings of fake pigeon English, the frequent 'be happy' or the frequent ' sirs.' The smiling emoji is straight out of WOS' playbook though....

The question is - why would someone assume a profile pretending to be someone from the far east ? And then post multiple times a day ramping the share in fake pigeon English ? I think someone once found some posts by WOS on the board relating to another share in which he was suddenly writing in normal English....That gave the game away.

Doc ; thanks - those are interesting comments about TXP. I will check that out.

There is often so much speculation on here about if X happens then the share price ' is bound ' to be Y. However, often this can just be wishful thinking, and people trying to convince themselves that they have made good investment decisions.

I wonder what happened to Hamm by the way ? I will never forget him saying ' guys there is no risk ' before the voting had even happened by the district committee which gave local access after many years of MATD being denied it. And once an RNS spike was starting he was always saying ' guys, get in now whilst you can - we will never see these kind of prices again. ' Not sure if he was a retail trader or even a MM.

Thinking back, over the last 5 years I would have been better off simply treating MATD as a pump and dump stock -which I was always likely to be subject to raises - until proven otherwise.

LTHs however have tended to end up as bag holders, who refuse to take profits on the fleeting moments when they are offered because of being unable to overcome their own FOMO emotions. FOMO has often kept LTHs locked in and anxious for 95% of the time that they have been MATD shareholders. For me this share will have to prove that is no longer a pump and dumper for me to treat it otherwise - the history of the share price has been a roller coaster of stomach churning volatility. Up and down like a yo yo.

Ra11adw2 ; I think you've probably got it spot on with what you wrote in that last post. As a matter of interest, City Index are now producing a chart for MATD - at the moment it just goes back a few weeks, though it does make it possible to follow an intraday chart in real time. Otherwise I look on something like Barchart dot com to look at a daily or weekly chart.

At the moment I'm looking to sell a decent chunk of my current holding if and when there is another positive RNS. I just think that with MATD there is always a very strong pullback/retracement after a sharp move up, so it makes no sense to just leave it all in there. I've missed 4 good chances to bank profits in the past - and now I'm done with that. In fact the last significant spike was back in early July 23 now, when after an RNS it shot down from the previous close of 3.5p to 1.8p on the open ( a blatant MM run on the stops ) before then shooting up to 6.5p on the same day. A couple of months later it was back down to 2.5p. Prior to that there was the May 23 spike up to just over 7p, followed by a fall to 3.5p a month later. All pump and dump stuff.

Out of interest, have you used that approach with other AIM stocks ? It sounds like the only really sensible strategy that I've heard of on here for dealing with speculative micro cap AIM shares.

Gigi ; I didn't bother to watch the clip that you posted about investment advice scams. Yes, there are many useless investment gurus out there - but that's nothing new. That's where discrimination comes in - but to discriminate you need a reasonable level of knowledge and experience in the first place. In any area of life you have so called experts who fail to live up to that self-appointed description - cowboy builders for example. You don't label everyone a scam artist because of these people though - there are many excellent builders around.

I follow two day traders who are both very successful. The main one I am following and learning from made $53,000 in a day the other week - his best day of the year so far. And I don't pay a penny for his excellent tutorials. Admittedly it takes commitment to watch scores and scores of tutorials/ trading day analyses which last an hour or so. Every day after the market closes he analyses and discusses the normally multiple trades that he made, including the trades which went wrong. This is a guy who makes several hundred thousand Dollars a month - he's in a different league entirely to the amateur investors that you get on boards like this, who wouldn't have a clue how to even read a chart.

Ra11adw2 ; a lot of the people on here who claim to be 'serious investors ' never seem to look at charts, and the likes of me have had sarcastic comments in the past if I ever mention technical analysis. I've often pointed out entrenched support and resistance levels for example.

The fact is that this share has multibagged multiple times in the past - typically going from 2p to say 7 or 8p. And then it's tanked again, which means that basically it's been a pump and dumper. It's just that most LTHs only seem to consider it to be a multibagger if the trend is always up - in other words, many end up being bag holders.

On Nasdaq the other week there were three stocks which each went up 600% or more in a single day of trading.

Gigi ; oh, and I forgot to mention - do yourself a favour and try to understand the difference between ' your ' and ' you're. ' It would give you more credibility when you spout your ideas about investment opinions. And it might give me less reason to ignore your insults about ' trading teachers ' who frankly almost certainly know a lot more about the world of trading/investment than you ever will.

I have pointed out that there have been some explosive price movements which have had little to do with fundamentals - for example the MMs spiking the price down from 3p at the previous close to 1.8p straight after the open the next day., And then up to 6,5p later that day. And all without access permission to the land.

I have 1.4m shares @ an average of 3.7p and I'm guessing that I'm a bigger LTH investor than many on here. However it doesn't stop me from believing that I would have been better off dipping in and out ever since 2019. Believe you me, I am extremely relieved that things look so positive right now, and having waited 5 years for something to happen at the site, very likely I've been more patient than most. Imagine how I feel about the newcomers who only came on the scene on the last raise....good luck to them, but they haven't endured the agony of being a LTH over 5 years. I could have avoided a lot of stress through adopting the suggestions stated in that book, which is a book dedicated to the subject matter of investing/speculating in small cap stocks. Frankly their advice has been better than 95% of what the ' experts ' on here have said over the years..

Aeschylus; I'm a LTH myself since 2019 and have no agenda in ' promoting ' the idea of volatility in the stock. I simply look at a daily chart going back several years and I see - volatility. I only talk about MATD for the simple reason that it's the only small cap AIM stock that I have a holding in.

In fact I fully accept that to date my strategy has been all wrong with his share to date. I have had multiple opportunities to take a decent profit, and then sit and wait to see what happens. A book I read about speculating in these types of shares, which I read several months ago, has it absolutely spot on. It says with micro mining and biotech stocks it's best to try and recoup your initial outlay - or most of it - when there is a news release and a price spike. Leave in your initial holding. Eventually you end up with no risk. This strategy would have been spot on over the last few years since I first started buying MATD , yet the person who wrote the book was not looking back with hindsight at MATD's share price history - it's simply a good generic strategy with micro cap mining and biotech stocks which are by nature extremely volatile. If you want to deny that they are not volatile than that's your prerogative....but all you need to do to prove to yourself otherwise is look at a long term chart.

This book also cautioned that small cap mining and biotech stocks are subject to frequent raises - hence the caution which they advocate. I think they know what they are talking about.

Do people ever look at the price action on charts ?? The ' unloved share ' rocketed from languishing around 3p in early March 23, all the way up to just over 7p in early May 23 with no access permission in place.

The reality is that this volatile stock has been a short and swing trader's dream share for many years. And a highly frustrating one for LTHs if you think it wise to simply park your money in a share which can have a difference between the high and low of the year of around 400% - as happened in the previous year. And one which is subject to multiple raises.

Plus, it's obvious to a thinking person ( not all are ) that the price action is heavily manipulated by the MMs, who are not some kind of neutral referees, but who also trade their own accounts, and who like to stock their warehouse - like any decent wholesaler - as cheaply as possible.

You obviously don't know much about religion - Buddhism doesn't believe in a creator god.....Try the three monotheisms instead.

@fabs - unfortunately with this share bag holding has not been a good strategy over the years. Those who have done well with it have dipped in and out.

I must have missed out on about 50K over the last few years through not offloading the lot when I have had a decent profit, and then waiting and buying back in on a raise. That's probably the only kind of strategy that works with these types of speculative penny stocks which are always subject to raises. Being a LTH usually just results in stress and disappointment.

Re Petro China ; I thought that a government mining ministry was overseeing these negotiations ? Presumably it's of national interest ?

Hamm was always the most extreme of the rampers - telling everybody that ' there is no risk ' before we even had an RNS to state that the District had voted to allow land access, and after years of being denied this access. Typically he would say ' buy now guys, we will never see prices like this again ' etc etc.

Professional only ever talked about raises, and claimed to be a trader who shorted frequently. He used to post several times a day, and has now vanished.

WOS of course used to post multiple times every day - and always ramping. So where has he gone ?

Were these people actually mms, posing as ordinary investors or traders ?

Great - though I'm not too aware of anybody on here who boasts of having made a lot of money so far from MATD. Most seem frustrated about the price volatility.

Take someone who bought straight after the MMs downspiked the price to 1.8p that time last year. So maybe they would have bought at say 2p and then offloaded later that day at 6p. Contrast that with someone who has waited 3 years to make even 2p on the share price, and has lived with the stress for all that time. Through dipping in and out someone could have made say around 20p cumulatively on the share price over 3 years, and therefore might not give a fig about what the price will be a year or two years from now. A 4p a share gain done in one day or done over 5 years is the same profit irrespective.

This is why looking back I would never just stick a load of money in on a speculative share and then hope for the best for the next few years. Maybe on a high dividend paying blue chip stock - but not on AIM.

Thanks very much for that. You're absolutely right about the psychological side - day traders do tend to work very hard on maintaining the correct mental approach, and sometimes they have to mentally reset if they find themselves straying from the rigid game plan that they have set themselves - particularly in terms of risk management. Day trading isn't for everybody though - we all have differing psychological traits, and I would say that it does require a particular type of mindset.

Based on my previous experience of day trading, you're also right in saying that it can be quite a lonely thing to do full-time - many can struggle with this aspect. With Nasdaq small cap trading though you don't have to be in front of the screen all day - there are some optimum times for day trading when volume levels are high. Plus there's pre-market trading, which can also be quite a good time following a company news release.

Interesting that you've traded on sports markets. I think it's always good to look at the different approaches which people have taken and tried out. I think that I've built quite a lot on the previous knowledge I had with day trading due to some at times fairly intense study since the start of the year - but now that I have a bit more free time I'm just about to embark on another phase of study using You Tube tutorials from active day traders. I've been using Interactive Brokers to analyse live charts for several months now, but I need to just get back into the swing of it again with a view to hopefully starting for real in the coming weeks.

if you look at some recent posts on here, several newer people have made comments regarding technical analysis observations based on their charts. One suggested to look at a weekly rather than daily chart. Another mentioned the RSI and a crossover of slow and fast moving averages. Are you dismissing their comments as ' claptrap ' as well ?

Aeschylus ; I fully admit that my approach has been all wrong to date with this share - but I don't go around blaming the company, the CEO, the Mongolian authorities or anybody else that can deflect blame from the shortcomings in my own thinking and strategy.

I guess it's called learning from mistakes, and reformulating ideas and strategy. That's why I wont be bothering with any further AIM punts in the future - especially as it's a game in which the dice are loaded in favour of the MMs.

I've noticed with the really decent day traders that I've been following ( 3 or 4 of them ) that they tend to be self-aware and honest with themselves. If they realise that their thinking is wrong, then they are self-aware enough to not let their egos stop them from changing course, or for starting afresh and thinking from a different angle. People like Doc it seems to me are the complete opposite to this.
