"Hey dozz. Just had a scroll back through and spotted you were very vocal and angry at people saying there might be a raise just before there was a raise."
And that's why people should have the intelligence to realise that viewpoints are not binary in terms of being divided into labels of ' positive ' and ' negative.' or ' positives ' and ' bashers/negs ' Usually what people mean is that anything 'positive ' validates their worldview, which makes them feel good about themselves, and strokes their ego. So it's all very much subjective.
An example of this was indeed just prior to the last raise. There were many on here who became very irate when a few expressed the viewpoint that there would definitely be another raise. The ' positives ' ( as they would have believed that they were back then) became extremely indignant about this, and in fact I was one of them. Turns out that the ' negs ' back then were right all along, and with the benefit of hindsight you can now say that they were doing all the people on this board a huge favour through expressing their opinion.
So now you can say that at the time it turns out that the ' negs ' or ' bashers ' were those who wouldn't entertain any notion that another raise was imminent, and in fact were leading investors down the wrong path. With hindsight you can now say that those who were were 'positive ' were those who turned out to be right - for example if I had taken on board what they were saying then my average would be quite a bit lower than it is today, and I would be in a better position.
In truth opinions are subjective - not some kind of objective truth. So the labelling of people into two camps is ridiculous. People are entitled to their opinions, which may turn out to be true with hindsight or perhaps just partially true.
Us men tend to attach our egos to our point of view - and that's not always a healthy thing. It's not an existential threat when another man's opinion differs to our own.
