The best scenario is to hold both, which I do. But I have held BP longer and through 2008 and the Macondo disaster. I think BP have better management. Lots to consider, but I am heavier in BP and lighter in Shell so get the benefit of both. Bit of a shame on the Shell divi reduction but will still return to £20 IMHO

38% potential upside BP and around 40% for Shell before divi cut. I would now say that BP is a better investment than Shell as the divi cut may have a longer term impact on rise.

so 1000 shares in BP cost £3000 with a divi of £88.41
but 1000 shares of RDSB cost £12000 with a divi of £128.13

So for £12000 worth of BP shares you could get £336.34 in divis at the current sp. So £208.21 more for the same price. GLA

to sell entire RDSB holding, and Buy all BP under £3 to get a better return and also better divi? Ooh decisions.

So, here is where you have to decide. Buy before divi, at £3 or wait until this rises up to around $310-315+ before ex div, and get div then it will to around £3 level again. I am topping up if this is sub £3 Monday. Divi and rise over next 12 months worth it.

I have bought into this company and believe this will be one of the next Tullow, Premier oil type company over the next year. Its poised to rise very fast.

Its reo briner here. The world is starting to move again. Oil price will move in line with he demand. The SP for this will also move up with the oil price and every investor here will say, during Covid-19 I bought and bought and bought at the historic lows and made a fortune buy doing so with BP. It really is a no brainer.

Caitlin, please do share your calculations. I'm sure your figure was £2.20. This is a bargain all day at anything near the £3 mark and we all know that.
