Why all the doom and gloom?

Friday morning. 7am. RNS. Followed by MM LinkedIn post.

If anything, I’d be surprised if this chat was upbeat. Frustrated investors it the reason why.

We know that Asos took a battering last week, it had a knock on effect on Boohoo and THG, it seems.

Boohoo could have bad news too which could have the same impact elsewhere. They could also surprise everyone with decent results, which could have a positive impact.

As the SP crawls lower, MM and QIA could acquire more shares. Makes you wonder if this is part of Plan B.

Good analogy. Though a key point is that, even though you sell the car, you want to be able to drive it for a few hours each day.

That’s where the talks break down as they buyer only wants you to drive on weekends and on their terms.

The biggest issue is that MM would lose control. That is the key, control, control, control.

If he has that control, this could be taken private a lot easier and cheaper than people realise.

Yes, Matt is frustrating but let’s keep focus on the undervalued parts of the business. There is plenty of untapped value and with Apollo conversations ending, who knows what’s in store.

Perhaps there will be more activist investors, perhaps MM is waiting to buy some more shares on the cheap, perhaps he will follow some of Kelso’s guidance. I am frustrated too but I do refuse to believe this is the end and it’s back to being destroyed by the city for the longer term.

Only bringing this up as MM stated they get approached many times a year to take this private and I’m sure it’s the same case with Boohoo and Asos.

He also mentioned a few weeks ago, he has many discussions with other CEOs that are also fed up off the city, wouldn’t be surprised if it was either of these two. Though they’ve acted in a more professional manner.

Massive shorts on them. They could soon be a takeover target too. They’ve been battered for some time now and it doesn’t seem like it’s ending, fast fashion isn’t as attractive as it used to be either.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they merged one day.

Did they just write an article based on his post and added very little other information?

The #NoThanks hashtag was jaw dropping. Why would you want to belittle them in that manner? This from the CEO was just all a bit insane.

I just don’t see how MM has so many people backing him after his actions over the past few weeks.

Did you receive any response? I want to write an email, but not an emotional outburst. Just some clarity and reassurance. It’s happened twice after all, the company is growing and value is increasing but they seem to not want change when it comes their way.

Before anyone has a go, if you are invested in a stock, you have every right to enquire further. We are part of that ‘35%’ overall.

As far as I can see, there appears to be no plan. A takeover is never going to happen, the SP is back down to these crazy levels and sure to be heading down further. It’ll be in this range until the next results day where we’ll see another 15/20% drop and Matt will just complain on LinkedIn, dilute this stock and insult the ‘35%’.

I was confident that he would have a plan B but how much trust can you put into someone that continues you let you down.

I find it hard to believe that Apollo offered above £2.20 but if they did, oh boy…I have no words.

I’m just silly for keep on topping up lol, silly boy. Any way, kinda be sad for a short while but we go again.

I can only really express this on this board so there it is.

I feel kinda sad, it’s all on me though, my decision to invest here but the last few weeks did fill me with hope. Now it’s all ‘over’ and it didn’t work out.

It’s not over completely but you guys know what I mean. Not sure what the future holds but I am hopeful and think it’ll be an interesting summer. Fingers crossed.

Agreed. Also, the message from Apollo came across quite rude with the ‘No thanks’. We don’t know what the offer was but I’m sure plenty here would have been happy with it.
