Viable gold concentrations28 Nov 2020 08:58
Morning. Trying some basic maths to figure out the lowest possible gold grades to open the mine. Assumption (feel free to correct my numbers, they are but assumptions!):
- 5 x labour @ &30k pa each(we can dream of decent wages)
- utilities for dewater, lights, air, crusher etc @ £3k/month
-crusher repayment (assume £400k unit, payed off in 5yrs) so £80k pa
Annual expenditure is therefore circa £266,000.
Crusher runs 25hrs a wk, for 40wks a year (allows for down time, annual leave etc). Therefore processes 3000tonnes ore.
Soooo, £266000/3000 = £88.66 / tonne return needed.
Gold at around £45/g currently suggests anything over 2g/t is therefore viable.
Let the corrections commence!
