@MrIndia we know CTDA is aimed at circa 20 working days. IF the DHSC are meeting that target takes us to about next week, so I don't see why anyone should have been expecting it before then. As for commercial discussions, we'll hear when they're completed, which imo they will be. I don't buy either anyone saying they won't happen, nor anyone saying they know exactly when.

Yes, unfortunately that is effectively the current thinking with covid. Eventually epidemic not endemic. Whatever, we're pretty much always going to be testing for it one way or another (at least the type of testing this will be used for).

I.e. PoC/LAMP application is where you want a molecular test on the spot. The likes of the one below are not that.

Had a look at that 'breathalyser'. It's neither an antigen nor a molecular test. It may be useful where neither is required or specified, however it is not in the same category as gdr's LAMP. That is all.

Thanks furion, appreciated, just my thoughts. I guess where I'm going is I think it's attractive to some industries whatever (or despite what) governments decide. As the virus is dangerous to those industries and they'll have to continue to protect themselves (and more persuasively their expensive operations!). Guess we'll see, I hope soon enough!

Hi furion, my view ref "why would a business want to invest in a new method of testing" it will be where that method provides practical and financial advantages to them. Some businesses really DO need to know quickly and accurately whether people are positive, I'd cite care and anything maritime as examples, travel, and there are undoubtedly others such as sport. I'm not suggesting it will replace lft for more generic use, but rather where PCR level is clearly desired but currently awkward or untimely. Clinical use also. Jmo

it's been a substantial development road on AIHL with the NHS trials last year (ref PALOH study), we saw the unit upgraded last autumn after feedback from those, and inclusion in NICE guidance (if that is what is coming in March) is for me the unlocker.
