There will be a risk reward for proceeding at risk I should think so risk if a failure, reward if a success. So the partner not participating is likely at some level of risk with regard to what their position is flowing a successful drill.

It does leave Tullow looking for good news from somewhere, although gas injection is good news. The crazy thing for me is targeting this basin with potential for net 300m barrels to Tullow versus Kuamakka say which has potential net 3bn barrels of Cretaceous. Simply mad.
Incidentally, Tullow IR has confirmed partners can proceed individually or in tandem with drilling on the licence - they do not need Tullow to participate.
I haven't asked what it means in terms of deferred cost sharing or other arrangements which may be in place but Total/QP/Eco are free to go it alone if they wish.

Bad news indeed and shows the folly of McDade's strategy of signing up a committed well there with the aim of adding another play to their development book. They were over reaching in doing so and I wonder what difference to the SP a successful well in Orinduik/Kanukku would have made compared to this news.

He has only negative things to say. While OpCom has likely occurred, I dare say it is nuanced and there are take always on possible paths ahead for all parties to consider. Further discussions will likely be needed to iron out the next steps.
I'd imagine there is a clear desire from Tullow to understand Carapa results and how these read across to Cretaceous targets on Orinduik. While I think Eco and Total are likely content to push ahead.
I note for all pros posting about the inability to produce the oil he hasn't responded in relation to the post on ths Total refinery in Antwerp.
Time will ultimately tell what the plans are.

I would suggest a new CEO may want to guide the market lower than previous indications. Such a course will a) make it easier to out perform and b) tie their LTIP to simpler hurdles.
The bank may sense economic headwinds over the next 12-18 months.

Interesting this article (average input to ARD process is 4.2% by weight sulfur). The post beneath shows Total has a major refining unit in Antwerp it has just spent $1.5bn on to process heavy oils through a hydrocracker for feed to an ARD (atmospheric desulfurisation unit) so I guess a billion barrel field of Tertiary as per CPR with weighted CoS in excess of 50% could feed this plant (with capacity for 300k bopd) cheaply for a long time.

Any prediction is liable to leave the soothsayer with egg on their face. It is more around gaming potential outcomes as that is what does (or doesnt) give us the confidence to invest.
For me it comes down to drill expectations and likely outcomes from said drills. Then working out what that may mean to the SP.
Obviously global factors have an impact here also.

For the bonds, HUR had something like the first 2.5yrs of interest in escrow post the fund raise. It hasn't been wrapping up it has been paid quarterly as wrapping it via a PIK gets very expensive due to compounding. So I imagine they need to pay $4m every quarter.

I'd asked how you saw the investment case for Eco 6, 12 and 18 months out from here but didn't see response. Wonder if you have a view?

Seems odd to have these at lunch and close x2 when the SP has been pretty static since moving up. The machinations of the market, who knows.

The interview was based around 2 or 3 prospects where we expect to see drilling this year. I'm not sure it is limited to 2 or 3 drills.
