The only good news is when it is confirmed that APA have switched on the green light. Everything else is peripheral. I would think there is little point in SAV shouting and pointing at external support at this point when they know the linchpins that they need to cover off and convince.

Any supportive commentary is helpful of course but APA is in discussions with SAV not the third parties. We shall see whether they manage to resubmit and set the clock ticking for an answer before Year End over the next three weeks or so. Heads or Tails. Red or Black. Curry or Chinese.

The mining company grabs the Next Generation to invest 123 million euros in the area hand in hand with the giant Galp, whose project to create a battery-centred cluster has been approved by the Government of António Costa, with a total investment of 914 million.

Interesting picture they use presumably of an artist’s impression of post mining facilities but the link below is to a real life example just outside Carcassonne. As an inland facility to enable swimming, water play, activities, it was a welcomed place when we visited the area a few years back. Would have thought it useful around Boticas.

Personally I don’t think that anything is off the agenda, it has been a case of understanding what is wanted or needed. It has only been since early July that APA have actually engaged (formally) and hammer out suitable arrangements.

SAV have had endless time to gameplay options so one might hope that they can look at any solutions to any scenarios that are brought up, adding any variations necessary along the way. More importantly, that these can be brought into play quickly.

It would be a result if things could be submitted by end Sep, but anytime before the end year deadline would be a bonus.

PGM/CM. The rainfall in London may be 24 in’s v 18 in Covas, but the population is but a fraction even if livestock is included. Accentuating any negative fears and ignoring any practical solutions to accepted concerns is certainly used to whip up sentiment especially by those that visit to add their two penny worth.

Lakes and dams and a will / can do attitude would help, after all the Romans supplied water to Rome from miles away, centuries ago. They already have plans to dampen dust during dry periods and any potential shorter term production suspensions due periods of drought could be written into supply agreements. Yes a factor. Yes a hurdle. But should it be an impassible barrier when there are so many options to mitigate, I would hope not.

I see reports that areas of China have had to shutdown lithium production due drought. Fair enough.
Crucial thing to bear in mind, production needs to have started for it to be halted if circumstances require it.

I was wondering if anyone had seen confirmation that the Port Gov had actually put it out to Public Consultation as yet, following their indication a week or so ago. I haven’t but then again apparently I never look for anything properly..

SAV given a Tier2* rating. Couldn’t be higher at this stage.

No doubt this will be noticed by possible future downstream partners for their own supplies but more importantly, by APA in their deliberations. Only the DIA will help Portugal if they really want to develop this industry and put food on the table.

Are they going to be able to re-submit before the end of September?

There has been no update following the meeting last month, apparently a bit haphazard.
To be fair, DA had nothing to do with this so any legal abilities would not have been applicable for this, or the local parish council v the government or indeed the most recent one.

Will these, or at least any further cases be guillotined once the new rules come into play, post public consultation towards the end of Sep?
