Might be Tesla centric but still a good description of severe issues faced by all. At the same time it might make one think that SAV might be of interest especially with the decarbonisation targets backed by ABB, and as a unattached near term junior in Europe (with expansion plans).

Don’t see why ABB would allow themselves to be used as window dressing by minnow , currently without licence, offtake, financing etc SAV. Says quite a lot of faith in the expected outcome. Yes only an MoU at present, but an outline for deeper integration as things develop ( as expected)

First one in Europe potentially, so might we be looking at a bit of a loss leader to get that first foot in the door with a kind of long term subscription deal based on successful outcomes as far as payment is concerned. Long term partnerships, embedded intertwining, circle of trust etc etc.

What I particularly like is that MDB is the first project. Over the coming months the auctions will take place and further areas in Spain are to be targeted. SAV will have experience on all the fronts of the processes towards permitting and have the partners in place to encompass a much larger, scaled coherent operation, already embedded with the eu supply chain (this bit still needs to be confirmed and announced but read the runes). Expect more news to come.

They may have to wait for some time for Vulcan. An in advance offtake agreement has the same value as two birds in a bush.

Not sure if there are any major scale lithium deposits near Valencia so suspect the site has other endearing factors. It’s not that far from Sines or some of the other areas of Western Spain that do have resources and may look to be opened up (SAV have identified some to crack at). If it’s to far away from Portugal, it must be further away from other places, so distance can only be a factor.

Portugal are wanting to process and develop down stream. VW may not seem to be mentioning SAV. I don’t take that either way for now, indeed all parties keeping each other guessing for the time being is no bad thing. It’s all in the bush until APA spouts. Hopefully that will be shortly after Wednesday with a legitimate, sworn in Gov that has the authority to layout its framework.

One things is certain though is that if they don’t, someone else will and Portugal will repent at extended leisure if they do not take advantage of their natural resources in as equable way as possible.

Plenty of scope for improvement, even if they are processing, west is best, and Portugal is as far west as possible in Europe.

Would expect some rapid movement post Wednesday swearing in of gov. 2 months #ince the election but could you imagine the court cases if things were signed off by an interim / proxy regime, so once legitimately in place, decision# can be made and implemented.

Good point about working days. Hope that they actually use those days to work ( and actually complete stuff) as sometimes outcomes and results still seem to elude.

Might be good to have some idea when the Port Gov is due to be making its case so the court can give its view on just how frivolous (or not) they view the Parish Council’s complaint or ether this is holding up the DIA. all would seem to have gone quiet, not so much from SAV per se, but any Gov commentary.

Not sure I agree that it is all to appease a proportion of the locals and Daisy. Fundamental requirement for whoever ultimately uses the raw material, be it the battery maker and then the OEM. 2 of the 3 legs now detailed and the last one requires the input from the DIA.

Maybe we should take this more positively as there has been little point in contracting consultants for the indeterminate previous months / years.

Once they got to 27mt measured, essentially they stopped simply increasing / proving up the remaining indicated and inferred resource as the size and LOM was sufficient to confirm viability and therefore perhaps of little value with the EIA/ metallurgy etc to get sorted.

Seem to remember a past presentation that confirmed a consistent rise in the measured resource and the background increase in the indicated and inferred, even at the 27mt measured level, so more to come, 50mt +

And at risk of being a repetitive bore, that was based on 27mt ex MDB not the 50m+ that it is set to increase to, or any further assets that may be acquired in the upcoming auctions.

There are of course a couple of major hurdles before the market will take European lithium production and valuing it seriously not least getting out of the starting blocks. Yet to hear the starting gun.

Also Galp CEO was reported 17/2 saying that details on the Galp/NV refinery business Aurora would be announced in the coming weeks.
