I'm with you on this. It astonishes me that people attach any importance at all to the supposed number of buys and sells.

I've just looked at the Havieron section of the Newcrest website. It's really encouraging; and they've very decently put "Greatland Gold" into the headline, followed by a link to our website.

Three things I noticed were: (i) the company is well-financed (the implication is that there will be no further fund-raise this year); (ii) Covid has made everything more difficult (so the sooner Colombia gets vaccinated, the better); (iii) Brad is very reluctant to buy into new projects, because the prices are too high.

I thought the combination of the chairman and CEO worked well; and I'm pleased that Louis Castro assumed an executive rôle in January of this year (he speaks fluent Spanish, which is something of a sine qua non in Colombia).

You're right about this. Mining is an ugly business, and destroys a beautiful landscape. I feel guilty about investing in any gold mining company (whether in Australia or Colombia), as the metal has no utility at all. One day I shall sell GGP and OMI, and buy Antofagasta; for no-one can doubt the usefulness of copper.

I like the reference to Odysseus. But it doesn't really hold water, because he couldn't be in two places at once, on the boat and with the sirens. Whereas one can be in GGP and OMI at the same time. Comparisons are odious; but the landscape in Colombia is much more beautiful than Western Australia (I've always hated deserts).

Interesting question. And the answer (much to my surprise) is, no. The trade has not (yet) appeared on the list provided by the London Stock Exchange. It was a purchase of 70,278 shares made at 16:24:54. I'd like all to say that all my transactions are made in the dark pool; but unfortunately that's not the case. Do let me know if you find it.

I'm pleased to say that the market size seems to be increasing. £12k was the limit for buying (on Eqi) last week; but today I added £14k in a single deal, with no problem. Just got in under 20 pence, before the close.

I don't think we have to worry about short positions at the present time. Those would have been opened above 30 pence, and then closed down at 22p or thereabouts. It may be a problem in the future, but not now.

I'm with you on this. The motive of these people is sometimes money, and sometimes malice. Often difficult to tell which.

Re posting on other billboards, I must confess I sometimes do this myself, to congratulate those who have done well, or to ask questions, or to contribute info. I know I posted on the OMI board (not often, but occasionally) for about five months, before investing there. But that's not the type of message you're referring to.

Here's another Kitco interview with trader Gareth Soloway. He speaks very well about pump and dump, in the first ten minutes or so. Also, about trading on margin, which is now at a high level in the US. Also about gold, 13 minutes in. I learn a lot every time I listen to him.
